Deal breaker and a half... All that money I wasted on smokes could have gone on cheesecake, Guinness and strawberry trifle...oh, and Maynards soft chews... (arf)...
I tried smoking once when I was younger. Didn't like it so I never started. I never smoked pot but the second hand pot smoke does make me dizzy and I have to get away from it. My ideal partner would not smoke either. The only thing I like to smoke is meats, fish and cheeses. Did anyone ever have smoked mussels. They are delicious and I ate them like popcorn.
MisterForYou: For some peeps, being a smoker can be a deal-breaker, in dating terms. How much of a deal is it for you?
Total deal breaker so far as I'm concerned and I'm really not much interested in former smokers' unless they've been quit more than 10 years...
Less than that and ( from observation ) a stressful situation comes up, they start up again and (knowing it's a DB) they try to conceal it , which then makes matters worse by adding the further complication of dishonesty ...
Without honesty there's no trust and without trust there's no hope of love ...
I am fine as long as she doesn't smoke around me, since I have an allergy to cigarette smoke. It's usually a deal breaker....my ex fiance smoked, and notice I said ex.....she said she was going to quit.....and she didn't....and she blew cig smoke in my car.....that was the last thing she did around me. I do not tolerate dis-respect.

It's most important to me. When I want to kiss her spontaneously, I don't want that tobacco taste in my mouth. And it would be strange to say: Take a peppermint or some chewing gum, because in 5 minutes I am going to kiss you spontaneously.

Major deal-breaker for me as I don't want to kiss an ashtray or die from second hand smoke. Here in Ontario Canada it will be very limited places we can go to together because it is not allowed to smoke in a bar or restaurant or in government buildings. it is against the law. and I won't allow smoking in my home either.

I have been a non smoker for twenty years, and i hate the smell of cigarette smoke on others clothes, it's a good thing it's been banned in public places. Now a lot of people have gone over to electric ciggies

I smoked for 35 years , got tired of coughing , the stink of it , the cost of it , so one day I told myself , "This is stupid ". So I quit , and so can anyone can quit , it only takes WILL POWER . I agree with someones comment about "trying to quit " , there's no such thing , either you smoke or you don't . studecar
