I don't know if it's the most touching movie I've seen but I do like it.

The story behind it is....

Stephen King and a friend were talking at lunch and the friend dared King to see if he could write a "to-be-continued" novel. He did it as a joke pretty much. I was one of the people running to the book store every friday to get the latest installment. I think a "joke" became his best work to date.

I agree, I love Stephen King and like you waited for each book. The Stand was the first book I read by him.

I don't know if its the most touching film I have ever seen, but I enjoyed it so much. I have seen it several times. Its probably in my top ten. I loved Gladiator! The special effects, the casting, the acting, everything about it, really - even the music is wonderful, I have the soundtrack on CD, beautiful - one of my top five, I think. The only thing is, I don't think Joaquin Phoenix got any sort of Oscar, did he? He was well and truly robbed!!! He was outstanding......!!

yeah ... the movie is one the best movies of the Century.
I think what made it so well done is that the choice of actors was just fantastic. I do not remember the name an actor who is playing a big black guy .......... He did worth noticing or commenting on acting.

The last film to make me teary eyed was called "DAD".

The latest film to touch my funny bone though was "The legend of Ricky Bobby". Totally idiotic.

I think that and "the Shawshank Redemption" are the most successful films to portray what King actually wrote..

Both are awesome films..I have them both and watch them over, and over..

If I am thinking about the right movie, I didn;t care for this movie. It was supposed to be based on actual events, but since the boat was never found, I think the writers took a lot of liberties.

I absolutely love that show. I have watched it so many times. I never have tired of it so far. Only thing...I am always sad at the end, even knowing how it ends. It still bothers me.

Now that we started talking about Stephen i also read the Gun's Linger. I think it's as epic as Lord of the Rings is...I believe it's awesome. The characters are very vivid. And it's strange that Stephen wrote a fantasy and not a horror book, don't you think?

King writes it all. I actually prefer his more realistic dramas over the horror.
