How far would you go to find love? Would you consider having a relationship with someone that you may only see IRL every few months, weekends or maybe 2 or 3 times a year? Would you for eg: live in europe and consider having a relationship with someone living in the USA, Australia or even further away or vice versa?

I have had a long distance relationship: I was living in Germany and he in Sweden, we met every few months, I moved here and we broke up after 1 1/2 years.

I wouldn't even consider that a relationship.

yes, absolutely. Knowing that about 16 years I am retired, then I can move to her. And with skype etc. you can have fun behind the computer in the mean time.

Never say never I guess.
But ideally I'd love to meet someone near me....who I could most days...and live life with.....bit I've found even dating someone from the next county to me seems like a whole new life to get to know...so if I found the real deal in lets say France or Spain and I spent enough time with them I would consider a LDR but only if it was always going to lead to a relocation by one of us...and I wouldn't mind that one being me.

Bearwoman: We travelled back and forth from Sweden to Germany for 1 1/2 year before I moved to live with him in Sweden. We lived together for 1 1/2 year, if that wasn't a relationship…...what would you consider it as then?

Bearwoman: When you both have jobs and small children to take care of (I had 2 he had 1) …..travelling back and forth isn't that easy.

Indeed never say never....
I'm not a pushover in the compliments department, but I want to say, our exchanges have left a great impression on me... You come across as intelligent, strong willed, well reasoned, kind and emphatic, all qualities that any sensible man would embrace in an instant.... I do hope you find a nice bloke (and i don't mean that in the wishy washy sense) to enrich your life...
As the loreal ad says (and I concur) "You're worth it".... wave

Driving distance is the perfect distance for me: would allow to meet often enough to call it a relationship, while leaving both with their own time and space and preserving novelty a bit longer.

Cohabitation kills romance. And I don't want all the trouble that long-distance travel brings with it.

Flame35: It doesn't work, because men aren't loyal

Flame35: Some do work, especially if both partners take the time to make it work, but it's also as you said: "men arent loyal"

In the long run, long distance relationships
most of them don’t work if you don’t put your all into it from both sides
