English Rock Star Billy Idol Celebrates Becoming a U.S. Citizen

As noted by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, some of the requirements for becoming a naturalized citizen include being a “permanent resident (have a ‘Green Card’) for at least 5 years; be able to read, write, and speak basic English; be a person of good moral character; and demonstrate an attachment to the principles and ideals of the U.S. Constitution.”

USCIS on Twitter: "It’s a nice day for a naturalization ceremony. Congratulations Billy Idol on becoming a #newUScitizen today in Los Angeles, CA.

At least he did it. Which is more than we can say for all the Canadians and Mexicans we have in California that are Hollywood and/or in the music industry.

Politicians and talk shows hosts, news anchors/readers too. doh

Probably take to long, to name them all.

A vaild point, although, to be fair, Dubai has a much higher percentage of non-citizens working there.

This reminds me of when John Lennon’s immigrated application to the USA in 1976 was finally approved. His wife received permanent living status in the USA a few years earlier.

Lennon Is quoted as saying then, “This is the best place to bring up a (birth-right citizen) Eurasian child,” Mr. Lennon said before the hearing started. “This city is cosmopolitan. Everywhere else, there's only one flavor.”

I wonder if John Lennon would feel the same way about anywhere in England today? laugh
