Adverts tend to bore me and very rarely get my interest....It is rare to see adverts, that speak to the community, promote essential goods and don't use manipulation techniques...why is this the case and why do so many adverts not, just stick to the product and be honest?

Ok you know my views on adverts, but they mine...have your say and if you do like adverts, then feel free to talk about them...if you don't like adverts share your views on why you don't like adds...

What are the most annoying ads you have seen?

Many UK ads are annoying to me, but go compare is one, that ranks high on my list of irritating ads

I bet it's becaause all of the modern communication techniques. They can reach you throught television, radio, Internet, by phone or on the street.
And Internet is the most important way to communicate with you nowadays.
But also due to the internet, everyone worldwide will be able to get your attention. Before the internet I wouldn't care about a shop 50 miles far away, but now it's easily to order stuff by mail.

So it's a concurrention competition and the more concurrention, the more brutal the companies become.

Everything in life is an advert, in a sense.

The clothes you wear, the car you drive, the opinions you espouse, are all an advert for who you are.....

Some ads are quite amusing...and even clever...
The vw golf ad which was a pastiche of Gene Kelly's 'singin in the rain', done to a break beat and hip hop dance moves... That's an ad that re-enforces itself because of its originality... Others include insurance 'meerkats', Barry Scott's 'cillet bang' the Christmas coke (drink) ads, the John Smith tuna 'kung fu bear' and the fantastic Honda car adverts of five years ago...

Only fools and horses work, hucksters rule. America elected its very own Del Boy... At the end of the day people are shallow and desperate. You give them an easy answer, they'll take it.
