When it comes to Christmas, Do you go along with the hype , the excess, the madness of shopping in huge crowds, the waste, the unwanted gifts, the debt incurred for people that can't really afford it.
I for one am not a traditionalist, and don't go along with all the madness !

no shopping for christmas .otherwise, yes ,tradicional
One2note: It's the time of year where my credit card takes a good battering, as do my ears after repeat playing of "all I want for Christmas is you" .
Oh i know, those Christmas songs in the shops, i just avoid them if possible, i don't mean to be a spoilsport but , i think it's the nice time spent with loved ones that is important , yes over a nice mean and some mulled wine , but not the other madness.
For us Christmas is still a religious celebration before anything else... It marks the birth of Jesus and it's about the family in the sense of togetherness... Christmas is a quiet evening with your closest and dearest ones... When I was a kid we didn't have presents on Christmas but the morning after the New year's eve...

Anyone who drinks mulled wine on Christmas Day , doesn't deserve any rights in this world ...
Christmas became too Politically with commercial big business here in the UK in the 1980's when on one hand people were being sacked and big businesses put up the prices of all goods so I sad then Not for me any longer and its got even worse in the last 10 years. Now I just say Bah Humbug
I'm not religious and don't care about Christmas as a religious high time. Even less so about its commercial aspect. (That's more important nowadays, than any other and I find it repulsing.)
I like New Year, though, and try to make it slightly more, than any given day: a bottle of champagne and some nice food. A gift or two to those I care about. Nothing fancy, just a sign of attention.
