Then, after giving them YOUR telephone number, saying they can withhold their number if they wish to stay anonymous, they still refuse to call - for "personal reasons"?

15 minutes.... Oh what I'd give for the love of my life to live 15 mins away, I'm not even 15 minutes away from the nearest shop....add to that, honestly, getting a date here as an old man is pretty unlikely, I gave it a go, and nothing at all, not a squeek, so now I languish here in the forums, it's not the worst thing in the world, and there's always cake, beer and a good hot curry to be had... Men on dating sites (not necessarily forum users) are after a leg over, I've said it a few times, and any woman you ask will tell you, it's a case of nothing to be found here that's going to amount to a hill of beans, if you're looking for a relationship, go real world or introduction agency, more invested by all parties....this is just a distraction...fun for a while, but nothing to pin your hopes onto...

To tell you the truth, I am NOT looking for a relationship but, if you find someone local who has similar interests, why not be friends? Whenever people want to see me for business matters, they phone first, then we arrange a meeting. Not the other way round.
I have my number on quite a few posters around here for various reasons. As it happens, one of my posters for dog training classes happens to be at a vet´s near that guy and I told him so.
For me, this behaviour sounds very suspicious indeed. I trust him with my number but he cannot trust me with his????

In my opinion Molly has a point,
I HATE phones, really i do, they are the most annoying inventions of the century. Don't get me wrong, they are useful, if you use them right, but often is the most disturbing thing around me. People go to a meeting or date, and staring all the time at there cellphones ¨ Its a real TURN OFF for me¨. And sorry lady's, but you are the worst in this scenario. I can understand when you are not interested in the person you meet, you just brake off the meeting, but be so uneducated to take your phone and ignore the person, says more about your attitude and personality then you can imagine. It never happen to me personally, but i saw it often that a couple sitting together and she was just messaging and calling on the phone.....

I agree entirely with what you´re saying regarding using your phone when you´re with someone. I usually put mine on silence.
But.... regarding phoning someone to arrange a place and a time to meet doesn´t mean you have to talk for hours on end. Beside, you also want to know if the person is real?
In this case, I don´t think it would make any difference if he lived 2 hours away!
How can you contact someone if you have a delay? Via CS PM? But you would need your phone for that!
