Kind of like a 'say anything' thread, but with a Q&A feel about it...(hopefully)... Its getting to be a bit iffy running up thread after thread for different subjects, so a one size fits all approach might be better... OK so, speak your brains, nothing is off limits....
Should there be a cap on lottery winnings?, smaller win, more money to social improvement?... (tackle homelessness, child and animal outreach and care iniatives, urban regeneration)... You already know what I think, simply by putting this up here...

Imagine all those Americans who have rhinoplasty surgery.... "FAKE NOSE, FAKE NOSE"....
smiley963: I made Chocolate brownies with a fudge sauce this morning. I bet everyone will go hmmmm at it? It is outstandingly delicious!!!
I long for the day when teleportation stops being science fiction and instead becomes science fact..... Then I can pop over to yours and help you eat them...

A man that think science fiction is not just a story, you're different!
Just seen the theatrical trailer for 'the favourite'.....having just watched 'the lobster' yesterday and being utterly blown away by it, the favorite sees the always brilliant Olivia Coleman reunite with visionary director Yorgis Lanthimos... Oscar will be knocking on the door come awards time... Best film offering of the new year, and a costume drama to boot...

In case you are wondering about the 'the lobster', here's a sample of what real cinema can deliver for the open mind...
It is a truly striking piece of cinema, imaginative, funny, sad, horrific (the scene with Bob the dog is brutal and a real 'look away' moment), and the ending.....well, I'll say no more... It's showing on sky / film 4 over the next few weeks...

A must watch then, i don't look at horrific, can't stand violence in movies.
Yep certainly a cap on winnings and more smaller ones given out. The last win was obscene.
Giving more to different charities sounds good ----but does it go to the proper places??? doing that does it stop your government from looking after things.
If more people got prizes then they might do things to help individuals. At least you then know where your win is being spent.

Mind you i do not buy lottery tickets ha ha
HI EX, charities, yes.... I could rattle off a few here in Ireland that would be known by many, used by many and willingly sponsored by many were time and money in abundance...and I bet you could name at least five of your own which are front and centre candidates for a cash injection... The lottery is, and always has been a tax on people's hopes and dreams, its not in my opinion a well managed resource... Governments will get sloping shoulders around funding anything that is either 'not a vote winner' or 'doesn't grease the whhels' of special interest groups...lotto money would make a huge difference to animal and homeless charities, food banks, drug and addiction support, Samaritans and others.... 138,000,000 euros is 137,000,000 more than anyone needs to cushion the blow of daily life if the money is managed sensibly...
