As far as I can tell (because this has been sprung on me), it's a period piece about Queen Anne and her lady in waiting and a new girl to the Palace court...it looks and sounds like a companion piece to the madness of King George and the other boleyn girl with comedy and satire in the mix... Do check out the Mark Kermode review below... Oscar will be knocking on the door come awards time... Best film offering of the new year, and a costume drama to boot...
Just checked with Daughter in UK, to see if she had seen any of the movies.Yes, she went to see The Favourite today and liked it.
