galrads: I thought Ireland never saw outdoor temperatures below 50 F
Dunno what 50F is...but we probably haven't...you've missed the point...the colder it gets the drier the air gets....we dont get it very cold here..but it's always just cold enough to retain over 80-95% relative humiidity..and damp cold air is far far far colder than dry cold air....the high r/h along with the low temp acts as a huge heat sink...and oh boy...go out in that with any less than 5 layers...thick layers....then you'll know what it is to be cold.....

50F is 10C.... i get the point about relative humidty. the air is dry in Colorado at higher altitudes compared to columbus ohio. my bro in parker colorado shovels snow at 20F in a teeshirt cant do that in columbus with the high relative humidty here.
Its -16 c here but feels like -25.....I changed my mind about walking over to get a coffee in case someone found me in a snow bank and thought I was a stray.....

Awwwww. M4! If I found you, I'd take you home and give you a nice warm bed.
For the record, it's -1C here with amazing hoar's frost on all of the forest trees. Mystical, Wonderland...
