PeKaatje: I think the dreams you dream are actually the things you wishes to come true.
But nightmares might be a way to get over a traumatic experience you once had.
I also thought that may be partly the case on some occasions. . :)

*in addition to other things dreams may be doing.

its like dreams sorting out stuff in its own way and without the imput /influence of conscious mind. because , conscious thought get stuff so wrong at times . look at the neg state of the world around us , even individual lives due to bad decisions of conscious thinking. eyes wide open... and f-cking things up. it gets stuff right too etc, but it gets stuff very wrong . perhaps dreams are cutting out the danger of neg conscious influence as they seek resolve issues in subconscious fashion. that's why dreams go beyond the boundaries of conscious thought n reason . anything can happen in a dream .

then when it has stuff resolved in its own way via dream, it then informs / instructs the conscious mind. problem is of course when it flips back from dream ,the conscious mind does not always understand.. it doesn't quiet get the msg . kind of like person who doesnt understand a parable story. they can only see the literal meaning and therefore think it just make no sense . they think the content of literal dream story don't / cant happen and that all they focus on. they don't get the other meaning presented in their awake mode. so they just forget or dismiss them and give them no further thought.

nevertheless, even consciousness may not understand , I believe dreams informs it somehow and influences it regardless, turns it around in right direction..

dreams are a big part of human experience .im sure they just don't construct and reveal themselves for no reason. but understanding them in their formats is not easy.

daears: Dreams are not
Controlled by ones-self
Dreams are seeds from
THE PAST

They select
What they want you to remember
Bless em
You can always dream about your future, but then you know what you are dreaming. A lot of dreams you can't remember the next morning, so noone knows what you have been dreaming.

M4_Mischief: I dream of everyday things and people....I don't know these people or the places I am in...I used to have nightmares...one particular nightmare I had was of being in a room and all of a sudden things would start flying around on their own like poltergeists activity and I would always be afraid and try to run....I don't have nightmares often anymore tho and I think I dream every night but always remember them......

Yes my father did appear in my dream/vision and then when I woke up the next day and had gotten the mail is when I read the front of the letter which showed that my sister-in-law had sent it and inside was that photo is when I showed the photo to my son is when my son had told me that the man in the photo was the very same man in the photo wearing the headdress and who had appeared in his dream too.

So I shared the fact that both my son and I had the very same dream about the very same person to the spiritual leader at the tribal community to which I trace back to told me that when two people have the same exact dream/vision that it means that those two people are obviously connected to that same person that they had the dream about.

No my son had never seen nor ever met my dad in person. My late father had obviously passed in 1957 and my son was born in 1980.

yes. :)

more like your dad has been connected with you in spirit all along and knows of your life on earth. then at that point in time for reason unknown he visit you both in that way. . :)

outside of dream /vision experience,.....I know that mind exist still in other realm after we pass on. it is with us in spirit form, it doesn't actually die with the body. I know this because of an out of body experience I had as a teen. other people have had ones somewhat similar to mine....yet diff in many ways. .

I wont go into that now....it is entirely different experience to dreams /visions.

science or others may have the notion that the mind is what the brain does. therefore , they think that when brain dies ..the mind is gone. I can assure you that is not the case. I have been here...there....and back for now. the mind functioned fine in both realms. except its far more heightened awareness on other side. that I think is because it is not functioning through the physical brain/flesh. ...among other things.

what tribe or race of native Indians did your dad come from. ???

My dreams are always full color, touch, smells, sensations, the whole package of senses. I remember every single one in fair detail.

Lately, my dreams have me between my neighbor's house which there is always a party going on and I'm running the sound system and the house in the city with the runway in the yard. Lot of times I leave piloting a plane flying over the city before flying home. In between, I always visit with the woman on the hill who is like a kindred spirit and its always involved. Sometimes I am leading a group of people anything from leaving work for the evening to being survivors of a devastating storm that wiped out all of humanity.

I see a mix of people I know and faces I don't know depending on what is going on. My pets are usually there somewhere in the mix.

Best dream I ever had that I remember is one of the lucid dreams I had where I took the dream over and created fantasy land for myself back when I was in high school one night. What disappointment it was to wake up from that one.

Worst dream I ever had was back when I was 7, I dreamed I was trapped in the bathtub with the shower curtain pulled over with 100s of bees buzzing around stinging me hundreds of times and I couldn't escape.

thanks for sharing. :) dreams can give us insights also into ourselves, things we don't consciously observe.
in addition to other info. related to past/present/future. it can even reveal our desires , values etc.

there is more to our dreams than meet the eye.

I most ponder on those ones . much goin on in there.....food for though . :)

on other note....your profile pic looks very similar to just how I am sitting down . in fact one of my cats is on my lap and was up looking into my face just like your one. it is also the same colour as your one. in fact when I just went onto this site now and pressed on forum and opened your reply to dreams , ..there was your profile pic looking just like I was sitting down with my cat . hahaha ..funny coincidence that. it was like as if you had just taken our picture. lol ...except I have a cap on.. lo

regards dreams that may be giving insight into future events.

I had this dream as follows...

I was flying along in the sky. I looked down and I could see the countries of Europe and some of the uk ...mostly England part. I could also see the island of Ireland. anyway , many parts of England were on fire.
sporadic areas here and there. something like when forest fires happen diff places. except houses and stuff were also ablaze in some locations. there were people outside of their homes and their faces were patched with black smoke . they looked very miserable and impoverished . they also looked hungry an emaciated. it was a dreadful scene. as I was looking down on this awful situation, I was wondering to mysef what is going on down there...what happened. then suddenly from behind me I felt strong wind blowing . then along came an eagle type bird and flew alongside me for awhile.. it then said as if in answer to my thought....the wheel of justice is in spin. they are paying the price of empire. dunno then I looked over to Europe and people were out on the streets looking over towards England . they were debating on whether or not to help the nation or whether to send emergency aid in stuff. then l looked to Ireland and the same debate was going on there. some people had placards taking part in some kind of protest ..rallies...and chanting some slogans . then after awhile as I was looking back in forth over all this scenario a flag just suddenly popped up out of the ground in middle of Ireland and people rallied around it. there then was this general consensus among the people to help them anyway because England was in dire straits and they felt it was the right thing to do on humanitarian grounds.

then I just woke up. I never got to see the outcome of the other euroopean countries debate.....

when I pondered on this dream in the morning …..I thought maybe it has something to do with the Brexit politics going on at the moment and that basically uk is going to take very hard economic hit as result of Brexit business..... ……..only time will tell . the story the bird in the dream told me..regards paying price of empire also relates to Ireland. the british in early times invaded so many smaller places with their more mod weapons back in the day. they slaughtered native peoples , stole resources ,colonised , planted, and gov them in tyranny etc. even today there are vestiges of british empire still in uk hands,. some englsh people unashamedly approve of this tyrrany.. northern Ireland is one such vestige.

the dream makes sense to me , maybe the generations of today will end up paying for the sins of their fathers as it were. it seems as if they shouldn't because they weren't involved in any of it. but , on the other hand there are people in present day times who agree with all that injustice of past. if I was an English person I would be ashamed of the empire building of my ancesters and all the invasion , murder n slaughter,,n theft that went on. then to have to look across to its neighbouring little island, and see northern island still under its tyranny and control like a monument standing out to its savagery and brutality as a constant reminder even still . today some british people are unbelievably proud of the sins of their fathers regard empire building of past, they even still want to hold on to what they planted n stole.

I have often wondered where uk conscience is in regards to this issue, how is it that mod day current generations being aware of the injustices done by ancesters have not founded organisations etc, and demanded the return of these vestiges of empire to their peoples. ...and pay some kind of retribution as sign of goodwill and reflection of current generation. maybe current generations generally don't have it in their soul to do so, when it comes down to it.

maybe that's why the wheels of justice were in spin as they were in the dream, ..dunno

I rarely have dreams that I'm aware of; and I prefer it that way...

Usually if I have a dream that I recall in the morning, it's prophetic.

My dreams so accurately describe reality, that I trust them over things I see, when I'm awake.

My dreams have busted cheating girlfriends so thoroughly, more than one was convinced, I was spying on her, or had people watching her.

One woman thought I could read her mind.

My dreams are so accurate, I trust them over things I see in real life.

An example...

I took a woman camping at Willow Creek, a nice place just south of Big Sur.

The night before we left, I dreamed...

I was sitting on a rock, on the road beside Willow Creek, with my gf on my lap.

When a very old Ford pickup (from the 50' s), with a brand new fire engine red paint job drove toward us...

In the dream, I tapped her, told her to stand up so the driver's notice she was a beautiful woman... and we got a ride...

First thing in the morning, without one vehicle passing us...

That dream came happened in real life: in exactly the way I dreamed it a few hours earlier.

People expect us to act and react to the things we see when we're awake.

I often act and react to things that nobody except me, knows that I understand.

many people just focus on the info that is coming in to them from external environment around them when they are awake. that's ok too and totally necessary . people have needs to meet . in conscious state they are totally tuned in to their conscious state side of things. they totally dismiss dreams and no idea of stuff going on in their unconscious state. a whole other world. yet its part of their life experience and very selves that they ignore.

but, its all info coming to the brain to be processed either way. some people just don't pay it any heed. OTHERS DO...and ponder on it. realising its a part of themselves . they don't want to dismiss part of their being or pretend it has no meaning or function in their lives. I like to keep an eye on what its doing. :) and I also have some lovely dreams that I enjoy .:) concepts that I would just never think about in my conscious state. stories n stuff that when I look back on , I wonder how did subconscious put all that stuff together . and have that info in that manner ., stuff I would never think of or put together in my conscious life.

I like to keep an eye on dreams and what they are up to. :)

after all if it was of no consequence then dreams would not occur, because they would be pointless. yet, they are part of human experience . obviously this process is necessary and is doing something in the brain. that dream process is relating also to conscious thinking ..interacting with it., but dreams are working both within and outside of conscious bounderies . it is Influencing and shaping consciousness in its own way , yet many people just ignore this part of themselves and think only the conscious side of their nature is relevant.

I think subconscious mind and dreams are even shaping peoples values . then when people make some ethical decision in the conscious awake state....they think its just the conscious awake state of themselves that has constructed their value. they don't realise that lot of stuff has being going on underneath while they were sleeping and sorted lots stuff out via dreams n stuff.

, values etc have been constructed while being both asleep and awake. both sides of themselves had an imput in forming them. they are unaware they are working off, and behaving ..off both foundations. they think its only their conscious that is responsible for everything. how they think and act. yet, I think the conscious side of people hands stuff over when they go asleep. in subconsciousness and dream states a lot of stuff is then sorted out.

I like to be aware of the whole package of self. Insofar as I can grasp it. :)

cheers
