How do you think our country looks? Are there people walking on cloaks everywhere, are their mills anywhere, how about tulips and other flowers? Are we all cycling or what?
I'm just curious, and maybe I can help to take prejudices away?

Am very proud of the Dutch.
Famous for anything to do with water. Building bridges and the Delta waterworks are famous (Google this and see)
It the Netherlands would be threatened again by the sea, they are now able to lower doors straight into the sea, to stop the water from coming inland an amazing feat for sure

The Netherlands often called Holland, Two of the most popular provinces are North and the other Sough Holland.
There are now 12 provinces, one province reclaimed from the sea.
It took about 10 years before its soil lost most of the salt and the land could be put to use
Yes the innovated Dutch are a lot more than tullip bulbs, and wooden shoes
Hup Holland, I will never be able to forget you, NEVER thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up

Yes I was born there many years ago

North and South Holland, two of our provinces ain't popular, but most people live there, because that's where the most factories are...
It's really crowded here in the west, living in the east would be more comfortable, you have more space, cleaner air, and less traffic.

When I think of the Netherlands, the first thing to comes to mind is the so -called "euthanasia" of infants and young children without their consent. The same goes for Belgium. This is why I would never visit either of these countries.

We don't do euthanasia on children or infants.
Euthanasia is under strict law, only for the people who have no hope for recovering from their illness. And even then.
My father (who sadly died last year) had a declaration given to his doctor that if he was ill and wouldn't recover he should be euthanized. But when the time was there, he was too far gone so the doctor wan't allowed to give him the end he wishes.
Sometimes people are having problems with their brains, they hear voices or have other disease, and then they can talk to a shrink and if the shrink also understands euthanasia is the only way, then they can end the life of the ill person.
Why do you think people are committing suicide in my country if they could get euthanasia any time they want?

Excellent bureaucracy. Perfect working order. Honest and direct in conversation, equality between listening and speaking you feel nothing like the American trying to get one over or beat you in some way during friendly conversation.
