PeKaatje: How do you think our country looks? Are there people walking on cloaks everywhere, are their mills anywhere, how about tulips and other flowers? Are we all cycling or what?
I'm just curious, and maybe I can help to take prejudices away?
I've never set foot in your country, though have known Dutch people who have immigrated here.

From what I've heard and seen through the media the Netherlands is picturesque and the people seem hard working and friendly.

I wouldn't have any hesitation in visiting the Netherlands, or Belgium, for that matter.

The Dutch Safety Board investigating the Ukraine Government directing Malaysian flight MH17 to fly outside the safe international airline flight corridor and straight to a known missile system that had been shooting down Ukraine air-force planes an event that occurred on Thursday 17th of July 2014 in the region of Donetsk Ukraine.
Demonstrates your Dutch Safety Board that has stopped working towards providing a clear view of the cause of the accident, has a level of dishonesty about on par with the dishonesty of our Australian government.

I see the Netherlands and Belgium, as part of my heritage, being in South Africa. How it looks, as I have never been there, but has seen pics of it, I remember mills and tulips. I associate with these countries very closely, and very well. I do not discriminate generally either.

ANDREW DENTON:… I completely dispute and question your assertion that 550 babies have been killed. Under Dutch law, there is a thing called the Groningen Protocol, which sounds very sinister but which, in fact, applies to very, very rare conditions of extreme spina bifida and a thing called EB, where your skin is literally flaking off, and it has applied to maybe a dozen babies. So I don’t know where you got that figure of 550 from but I think it’s not correct. – Q&A audience member, speaking with broadcaster Andrew Denton, November 9, 2015.

I've never been there.

Of course there are many places I've never been too like most.

I can look up information, statistics, even acquire some visual aids of the respective regions I question or wonder about.

Here in an international site, what I truly try to rely on, are the residents of those locations. Living in a region gives more accurate, first hand, information.

Euthanasia and minors
The Chamber of Representatives approved on 13 February 2014 the bill that makes euthanasia possible for minors. This makes Belgium the first country in the world where children can request euthanasia under certain conditions. In the Netherlands euthanasia can be used from the age of 16.

In the first place, the minor must be judicious. The law does not specify a minimum age. As in the Patient Rights Act, the 'mental age' of the minor will be decisive. A juvenile psychiatrist or psychologist has to check whether the child is capable and able to assess the consequences of his request.

Secondly, the minor must be in a medical, hopeless state of persistent and unbearable physical suffering (psychological suffering is excluded) that can not be mitigated and will result in death within the foreseeable future (= terminal being ie suffering from an expired and progressive disease). The attending physician must consult an independent physician who must also express his views on the medical condition of the minor.

The third condition is that the request must be voluntary, considered and repeated. The request must therefore have come about without external pressure. The attending physician must inform the minor about his state of health and life expectancy, about the remaining therapeutic options and about possible palliative care and its consequences. The request must be made in writing.

As a fourth condition, the law states that the attending physician discusses all medical information about the minor's illness with the parents (or legal representative). The doctor must verify that they agree with the request of the minor patient. This agreement must be recorded in writing.

After the physician has treated the request of the patient, psychological assistance is offered to the minor and his family.

 The funeral
Minors can decide for themselves how they want to be buried from the age of sixteen. They can choose whether they want to be buried or cremated, where they are buried or where their ashes are scattered and what ritual of the philosophy of life for the funeral ceremony must be followed. The latter will have to inform the civil servant of their municipality in writing during their lifetime.

Case:
Lucy (13 years old) has been fighting cancer for more than five years. Now that she has been told for the 3rd time that her cancer has returned, she no longer has the courage to fight back. After an emotional conversation with her parents she came to the conclusion that she no longer wants to live like that. Can Lucy ask for euthanasia?

Before the physician can grant Lucy's request, she must be examined by a psychiatrist or psychologist who must check whether she is capable and capable of assessing the consequences of her request. Lucy's parents must also agree with her decision. Furthermore, her supervising physician, together with an independent physician, will investigate Lucy's medical condition and determine that she is unbearable and terminally ill.

When all conditions are met, the doctor will inform Lucy and her parents about how the euthanasia will go. They will therefore have to decide together on which day the euthanasia will take place. During this entire period Lucy and her parents are psychologically assisted.

Now that Lucy has not yet reached the age of 16, she can not register her will with the registrar of civil status. Of course she can communicate this to her parents, so that she can fulfill her last wish.

You're a friendly fella aren't you Charles....uh oh

You'd probably be best suited living in the Southern states of the US(the Bible belt) with your far right religious, political views.

I'd even assist in helping you pack your bags.

Please don't consider working for Tourism NZ in promoting NZ as a country of friendly kiwis.

You don't speak for the majority of New Zealanders(thank goodness).

I'd prefer to hear the views of residents of their own respective countries, than listen to your hate-filled propaganda, pushing your own agenda with your consistent obssessive and aggressive spamming of the forums.

Even the "Word Association:" thread is not a safe fun place to be anymore with you around carrying your pompous, pedantic, self-righteous attitude.

The other two NZ male Trump supporter CS regulars, pale in comparison, to your antiquated views.

One of the reasons why I no longer personally wish to involve myself too much with this site anymore, is people like yourself who dominate the forums now.

A far cry to how the CS forums and blogs once was, sadly.

May I remind you this is an international DATING site.

Enough said. I have better things to do with my time, than read your garbage.

In response to: I understand that you support the Dutch government killing children without their consent
Where did I say that?

No, I'm just done with the manner in which you conduct yourself on here.

A troll intent on destroying what little fun remains on the forums. An arsehole to the nth degree.

I don't wish to comment further with you.

Cheers. Have a happy day Charles.....tip hat

In your initial comments about me, there were some grains of truth. I freely admit I am a very opinionated individual. And I know this occasionally rubs some people up the wrong way.

But frankly, your response to me was more extreme and aggressive than anything I have said in any of my posts. Accusing me of "hate-filled propaganda" because I dared to cut and paste an article from the Dutch government's own website confirming that they do indeed kill infants without the child's consent, seems a tad over the top. If you honestly believe that being concerned about non-voluntary "euthanasia" constitutes "hate" then you have a very warped worldview.

And no, I certainly do not claim to speak for New Zealanders. And nor can you! We are both individuals with our own opinions. And that is as it should be.

An in depth self examination of your distorted perception of world views, wouldn't go amiss Charles.

My comment was based solely on your general views and opinions and the way in which you air them on these forums, not particularly the specific case in question.

Now getta outta my face, before I slam you over the head with a skillet, cast-iron, no less.

I AM getting aggressive NOW. rolling on the floor laughing
