Islamic State schoolgirl Shamima Begum has had her British citizenship revoked, her family has been told in a letter from the Home Office.
The letter, obtained by ITV News, was received by Ms Begum's mother on Tuesday.
"Please find enclosed papers that relate to a decision taken by the Home Secretary, to deprive your daughter, Shamima Begum, of her British citizenship," the letter read.
"In light of the circumstances of your daughter, the notice of the Home Secretary's decision has been served of file today (19th February), and the order removing her British citizenship has subsequently been made."
The letter went on to urge Ms Begum's family to make her aware of the decision, and added that she had a right to appeal.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the family's lawyer, Tasnime Akunjee, said: "Family are very disappointed with the Home Office's intention to have an order made depriving Shamima of her citizenship.
She wanted to come back to Britain and take advantage of our national health and benefits system.

I would rather block these appeals even if we give all the money to refugees. It's a display of western privilege for us to spend all this time and money on one traitor whilst millions of innocent people die. The death of this one would not be a tragedy and the millions are not a statistic.
Strip them off of citizenship and kick them out...all of them, teen ISIS brides, hate preachers, Sharia law protectors... And give them no right to appeal whatsoever... Human right lawyers work mostly on saving criminals than anything else...
aries1234: Yes I think this is the attitude we willl show when Brxit day arrives, Mar 29. Some deportations will be inevitable.
I've never seen such outrage wit the British people , with one breath she says, Isis bombing innocent civilians is justified, and next asks us to take her in. No no lady, who will you betray to your masters next.

well, they didn't revoke her citizenship just for nothing I suppose. They have good reasons to do so. In my country they have the child's pardon, saying it is to sad for a child to go back to the country her parents have left. She knows nobody there, she doesn't know the language, all excuses, when my parents would have decided to emigrate to the USA when I was still young, our government wouldn't have stopped them, I didn't speak English then, nor do I know any people in the USA, so any muslim refugee in my country starts producing children as quickly as possible, just hoping to stay and could enjoy our social system and healthcare.
The UK has the balls to say enough is enough, now Europe must follow, I hope.
The current situation is that you are working hard day in day out, just to get food for you and your family, but the government is giving away half of your food, and with each refugee coming in, they give away a little more. Just till you say: enough is enough.

We also need a Bexit! The Court of First Instance in Brussels has published the summary judgment requiring the Belgian State to repatriate two IS widows and their six underage children from Syria. If this has not happened within 40 days, our country must pay a penalty of 5,000 euros per day of delay and per child, with a ceiling of 1 million euros.
