smiley963: When young and innocent, we want to be teenagers, then 18 cannot arrive soon enough, to have some adult rights.
Now we are long past those goals, and worry what will happen in the future with your health, and welfare.
How old will You become: Will You see your grandchildren play as toddlers and teenagers? Will You die alone, or leave a partner behind?
Why do we always want to look into the future, and when we find the answer, is invariable disappointed. But how do you plan for such illusive time?

well, I got nothing from my parents, maybe 4 grands when my mother dies, I don't have children, but if I had I would have said: I have earned everything myself, you should do the same.
The daughter of my brother is the only one in our family studying at the university, I guess she will make a lot of money after she's finished studying, I don't think she'll give us some money every month, so why should I give her some, when I die?

On the one side we have the masterplan and on the other there's walking into rooms and saying things; the whole world being a con job. Life is a balance.

If you have a one-track mind, do you still have a master plan, or are you just moving forward/backwards/sideways/nowhere, for the sake of it, to pretend to others that something is happening, when nothing is. The world is what you make of it. Life is always juggling with very many balls, trying not to drop any of them, very difficult.

i spent years working hard, and doing my best, chasing carrots for a master plan. what i learned from it....stuff happens that one can not control....so i no longer have a master plan.
i try to really focus on am i content right now? find the sacred in the ordinary. i try to discipline myself to stay in the present because time is going by quickly and i don't want to waste any more of it on 'possible' futures. i try to pay attention to today, and that guides me into tomorrow.
i don't pretend to others, and i am not particular swayed by their judgements.

Impulsiveness, is advisable, but some times, you have to plan ahead, e.g for your kids studies, etc
