mykingdomforanam: I don't know how it changed my life; but "My Sharona," had to of changed mine...
The song always made me wanna travel; and once upon a time, it was on the radio 10 or 20 times a day...
I wanted to keep myself from getting mired down in any one place; and that song inspired me to go.
For years, whenever that song came on the radio: I'd jump outa bed, and start packing...
Women asked what I was doing; and by the time that song was over, I'd be gone.
I quit jobs without getting paid, left women who were crying, and I'd flip a coin when I got to the highway to decide what direction I was traveling.
That song definitely changed my life.
My Sharona is a great song but I don't understand why it made you want to hit the road.
This is the song that had a profound influence on my life. I was on the road far from home when this came on the radio and it was the answer to what was bothering me about my marriage. I got divorced about a year after that revelation.

well, I must admit that when I first heard records of Accept (Restless and Wild), Loudness (Thunder in the east), Saxon (The eagle has landed) and Metallica (Ride the lightning) I became a metalhead. So those four albums also changed my life.
So every night I listen, wonder if it's late. In my dreams I'm riding on that train. I feel my pulse a-beating to that old fast freight and thank the Lord I'm just a bum again.

It was about 6 years before I heard the end of My Sharona, on someone else's radio.
It would still be on women's radios; but I'd be walking out of range, and never went back.
I don't understand how you could listen to that song for a year, before leaving...

Divorce is often a time consuming chaotic process especially when 2 children are involved. You can't just up and walk out like breaking up with a girlfriend or boyfriend.
saidmahmoud: How could let a song change your life
If a song gives you a thought or emotion you had not previously had - is that not life changing in some way? It's not a case of 'letting'. Even if you choose to ignore that thought or emotion, you have still experienced it and made a conscious decision one way or the other. :-)
