Is using a stairs done to avoid the security hassles inside of airports and facilitate going to the next mode of transportation? Regardless, I’d use a jet bridge or escalator or sliding board etc ... wave

I think the bigger question is why they need to use such a big, gas-guzzling aircraft, when a much smaller one would do just as well.

i imagine some reasons regard security, space for the press and staff, meals, conference room, communications, long flights, a place to relax, status symbol etc

Some of those reasons are valid, but the last one definitely is not!

I'm a big believer that politicians should try to save the taxpayers money where-ever possible.

The Boeing 747 is a very inefficient aircraft, and hopefully when it is replaced it will be with something smaller and more efficient (if a widebody is needed, the 787 would be a much better option).

Because unlike most of Trumps supporter, he is not a god and cannot levitate.
A better question may be, why he isn't shoved in with the luggage? He is hardly an icon that deserves taxpayers money to pay for his travel. Especially as the cost of his travel in the short time he has been POTUS is already more than 8 years with Obama. Yet the ignorant never stopped whinging and whining about Obama's travel and golf.
Two faced republicans lol

His fingers are too small to push buttons, unless they're really gigantic buttons.

Like the giant nukes button he bragged about having on his desk.

Because even Saudi Kings's gold escalators malfunction at the most inopportune times!!

It's safer to walk.
