Suicide is, be definition, some taking their own life. "Assisted suicide" is therefore a contradiction in terms.
What the euthanasia industry are demanding is not "suicide" (something we have always had). What they are demanding is that murder (i.e. one person killing another) be legally permissible in certain circumstances.

If you took the time to study a meaningful dharma you wouldn't be overly suffer misery and suffering because you would be armed with correct view and correct antidote to manage the misery and suffering you refer to.Nihilism proposes you don't have nor need a view yet your expressing one.
Both of you are being quite unrealistic, if you never never go, you never never know, for me its sad to sit on the fence having carefully studied a 20,000 year old belief that provides antidotes for our ills listening to you guys profoundly stating you believe nothing while still proclaiming opinions that others including myself attempt to convey wrong pal
try checking out Lam Rim while you still enjoy this short human rebirth while you can. You don't need to join a isim but you would be able to have an informed view

If I were to "study" all the different types of mumbo jumbo people try to hoist on me, I would have time for nothing else, rob. euthanasia sounds like your putting someone down....assisted suicide is really what it is because the patient makes the choice....its not someone putting you to sleep without your permission....its all about what the patient chooses.....

Personally I am not in fav,our of giving carte blanch to this action without many safeguards, but i have heard of doctors increasing the pain control dosage, to the the point for the pain control is fatal.
From my own point of view , my doctor asked me to sign a DNR form even though i have no illness, he said it's just a formality, I told him t stuff his formality, and changed doctors.

Nothing proves God intended for people to undergo prolonged suffering before death. Doctors in U.S. frequently max the pain killer when a hospitalized terminal patient has had enough.
