I think everyone should carry to protect themselves. They should open carry too. If 16 year olds are given the responsible ok to vote, so the democrats can get more votes, they too should be able to protect that vote.

Good point. I agree. Here in NM, we rank very high for various crimes, shootings, car jacking, armed robbery, etc. We must protect ourselves.

According to our national Supreme Court police are not body guards. Their primary jobs are to protect property, enforce laws and crowd control. Someone tried to sue a police station for not redponding in time after a 911 request for help before a fatality occurred. SCOTUS is right, protect yourself.

I agree. here in Florida, all schools by law must have security guards, if not, that school would be fined

by law since the last school shooting in Florida, Feb 14, 2018.

Teachers having guns doesn't guarantee that the shooter won't be able to make victims.
It may deter the undetermined shooters but not the suicidal ones.
Plus, most teachers are women, what makes anyone think one of them won't shoot a male student "because she FELT threatened" ? We already know what little regard the majority of women hold for men and boys and we already know what little value society holds for a man's life, let alone his privates ( Lorena Bobbit, anyone? Yeah, it was "funny" wasn't it? )
I wouldn't want my boy anywhere near armed teachers, it's bad enough they flunk our boys on purpose and commit psychological violence towards them, a gun on their hip would only enbolden them further, it's bad enough they have a huge chip on their shoulder.

That School Shooting horror won't stop until the whole of society is changed for the better and I don't see that coming, to the contrary.
It's only going to get worse.

I’ve seen how some public school buildings in Jacksonville Fl. are set up and I don’t like it from a security standpoint. They drop in self contained little prefab structures that are detached from everything else on the schools campus. They can’t afford a guard in each of multiple single classroom buildings like this. I wonder what the contingency plans in these schools are like fir substitute guards when a guard calls in sick or needs to use a bathroom or have lunch.

I didn't find the answer , responsibility is the answer. New law would help. LAW : Anyone who kills another person with a firearm is AUTOMATICALLY sentenced to death by firing squad in public with NO court appearance , unless the shooter can prove unequivocally his/her life was in danger , then proceed with court
procedure. One stipulation : gang related will not allow any consideration. studecar professor

I agree with your first 2 sentences and your last, but I'm sorry, I do not agree with the rest of your comments. First of all, do we really know by statistics that most teachers are women?

Also, I certainly do not agree on your point about women shooting boys only just because they feel threatened. Any teacher would shoot to protect regardless of the sex of the shooter. This is not about sexism.
