When growing older, life gets more difficult, as you develop all sorts of elderly illnesses. Some people are so incapacitated, that they would prefer to be euthanised, which is illegal most everywhere.
We all know of people that lived to their 90's and older.
Imagine medicine is advanced to the stage where we don't have to worry about illnesses anymore, and can live forever, except under dire circumstances. Your body is automatically kept young, with the help of space-age medication.
Would you want it?

Several people in my family have lived into their nineties so I guess it's a possibility for me. So far I have managed to avoid most of the elderly illnesses. I guess the big question would be "Are you happy with the life you are living now? Or would you be willing to make the changes necessary to be happier?" I also imagine that you would have to have a certain amount of money to be able to afford these medical advances. I don't think I would want to live to be old in my present circumstances but that could change if I won the lottery.

The medical advances that I'm referring to, will be available automatically to all people, according to what you are able to afford, where someone with a high income will pay the highest amount and the lesser, less amounts, where everyone will still get all the benefits. This will not be because you have to pay, as it might just as well be for free, but people psychologically react better to something is they feel they have paid for it and thus deserve it.Thus you will also qualify, or rather everyone will.

Kind of like Medicare for all? I think it would still depend on how happy I was with my life. I would not want another twenty years of unhappiness. It's kind of difficult for me to remain optimistic these days. Maybe after 2020 I might feel differently.

No. I would not want to live forever. There are too many people on the planet as it is. Imagine the effects of overpopulation? Will there be laws forbidding children? I'm perfectly content with the cycle of life.
