Friskyone: What offences would you call "twatty"?
Inciting an unborn baby to commit criminal acts, for one thing.

I cant get on board with it...I worked in a prison and they are rough places and the womens prison was worse than the mens....women who are with their kids in these baby areas are still criminals and therefore could be violent and there is nothing to stop them from being violent to other inmates or babies....bonding with the mother for 3 yrs and then ripping the baby away has to do damage of some kind....prison comes with a loss of rights...its not meant to be fun or comfortable and one of those rights that you give up is spending time with your children every day accept visiting days....if you would lose your child outside for certain crimes you have committed then you certainly don't deserve to have them inside....as far as the right breastfeed...give the mother a breast pump and she can send her milk home for the baby if its that important.....wave

I think we all can agree that imprisoning/caging/restraining innocent women is far more palatable.

Friskyone: 3 part question

Do you think it is appropriate for women in prison, be able to raise their kids in that environment until the age of the child is considered old enough to be released?

Example:

When pregnant women enter prison and give birth in prison, should these women argue their right to breast feed their babies?
Some prison's have daycare centers in the prison.

OR, should these children be taken away from the prisoner to be raised by family members or to be adopted?
Interesting, maybe women who give birth could be released on Parole. Then many who are accused and know they are going down will get pregnant.....
But what about Fathers? They are also estranged from their children. Their children bought up without them. Equality?

Before answering that, you have to think: What did they do to be in prison? If she murdered kids it won't be a good idea to give her a child in prison. If she was guilty of a serious incident with her car, killing someone, well, I see no harm in letting her having her baby. But if she had the meaning to kill someone with her car, then it's a different story. And even than you have to ask yourself, why wanted she to kill that person?

I'm no judge, but by thinking of this you see it's difficult and complicated. Maybe they should have have an extra house with a big garden and a schoolbuilding just outside the prison where they're taken care of and where women are allowed to see their children and take care of them for several hours a day, until a certain age. And then afterwards only during the visiting hours. Of course the children are free to go outside, but with a nanny.

Have watched many of these shows on tele.

I'm all for it because it's not like the child is behind bars like hardened criminals are housed...Much like a hostel..Play area all sorts of things provided for parent and child.

Like I've mentioned a couple of times in this thread..."if you can't do the time, don't do the crime". Goes for both men and women. If you don't want to be estranged from your children or any other family members, then choose to follow the law instead of living a criminal lifestyle.peace

But doesn't going to prison mean loss of privileges?

Stan and I are probably gonna go fishing this summer, and I'm sure there will be some beer involved at the very least. God help us if we find our way into a tavern.

I don't think I know who Stan is. What is his CS name, if that's ok to ask?

Have you met in person before?
