a part of all that is learning to love yourself as is....now the authentic self is covered up by kinds of conditioning and things from outside such as beliefs etc...its an unlearning plus an uncovering of who you are underneath all that...it happens naturally and its not something you can make happen.....
you can read about it on the net my suggestion is take only what resonates and leave the rest....there is a lot of bs and even followings of people who got it all wrong out there....

A definition I remember is,Spiritual awakening, then, is an awakening of a dimension of reality beyond the confines of the ego. The ego is our exclusive sense of self or “I.” This awakening occurs when, for whatever reason, the ego somehow let's go so that a Higher Self or Spirit can arise within.
