I'm using the Nikon Coolpix P900 and still experimenting with it....there's so much to learn with this camera. laugh
Yeah, the duck I know is a Mallard but it's the last pic I posted where I have no clue what bird it is. giggle

Maybe a Least Sandpiper (maybe not!!), perhaps an Adult male White-rumped Sandpiper in breeding plumage. Resolute, Nunavut, Canada. June
OR other bird hehehe, see tiny link to google images, maybe you can identify

I use bird identification book ('s) similar to these:

Took three months or more to set up my Olympus to do what i wanted it to do.

Found some sites the explained each menu and made suggestions, i just been looking for similar but didn't find for the Nikon Coolpix P900
Other than user manual some expert like people kindly shared there setups. There is sites like this
I visit get monthly email from that usually has some helpful stuff in it.

My camera is set full time Auto Focus in all three My Sets, set to use face (eg eye) detection that detects birds eyes when it can helps the auto focus, has tracking, all working using the three different My Set Settings only difference between the three is ISO setting. I use Auto ISO, 3200 ISO and 800 ISO but that suits. Camera has 5 way stabilization and lens also has its own stabilization chatting to the camera.
Olympus 4/3rds OMD E-M1 Mkii camera I'm using a 300mm lens + 1x4 tele-converter; that gives on old 35mm scale about 820mm.
I have that sought of setup because I photograph Birds (some wildlife) but mostly birds and they never give you time to fiddle in very big menus.
There is course downsides, the camera is setup to photograph birds, not much use taking landscape or movie's, or party photos or that sought of pictures for those i use other camera.

Thank you so much for looking it up and for all the info available at other sites for taking photos. hug
I think you're right that the bird is a sand piper but I'm not sure which type it is....first time I've ever seen one so I have no clue. laugh
Here's another photo of the same bird that might have more detail on it to identify the type and I've been looking on the internet sites and can't say for certain which type it is. dunno Most of the photos I'm finding are showing sand pipers with dark beaks and even the juveniles seem to have dark beaks where this one is light. confused

You've got your cameras set up the best way that works for you and are far more familiar with the various settings and adjustments than I am as I'm still learning what they all mean. giggle I bought a book titled "A Photographer's Guide to the Nikon Coolpix P900" that has a lot of valuable information and stated in layman's terms for the noobs like me. rolling on the floor laughing
