I’ve effectively answered that question with the US constitution.
It’s intelligent to judge each case on its merits and consider us all equal at birth. But is it wise? Monarchs, mysticism and the magic of rank inadequacy people seem to invent higher powers just for the sake of grovelling low themselves.
Wise societies don't land on the moon, populous societies don't consider equality. The quantity of life and stability of regime we see in wise old Asia clashes with the dynamic quality of life developed in the west.

Democracy itself runs the risk of electing a complete moron based on the idea that information is more important than wisdom. That a society is better informed by the many and not the few and yet we know from experience that the many are not wise per se.

Yep i suppose you're right ... just take a look at our country
smiley963: Can you judge yourself, as to your Wisdom Level, or do you need a 3rd party to access you...?
Put down what you think your level of wisdom is, and the rest of the Forums users, will agree or dis-agree.... or offer advice...
I know I am smart (intelligent) but am unsure if I can call myself wise. It appears I can know the right response or thing to do in life and know if I do something the results will not be good. Yet I seem to sometimes choose to do the unwise action.
It comes from having a bad day but the irony for the wise is that the better life for your kids they deliver is the reason posterity is dumb. Clever is inventing things that make wisdom redundant. The wise elder meant something when surviving until 70 required something, something of you.
Family is the beggining of nobility, a word that may seem as old-fashioned as codpiece or loyalty but a close family is the education in(and solution to)difficulty you really need. We've lived so long in the good times that it's a difficulty to adapt, the bad times won't pay you handsomely for facing them therefore nobility must compete against the profit motive. You get a period of great profit for small action - karma grows popular in this time as people want to invent a reason for them to personally deserve the privilege they were born in - and then you get a diametrically opposed period where great effort just about keeps you alive.
Family is the binding element in it all. Record breaking levels of boomers releasing the equity in their home - the old pulling up the ladder behind them - will not be met by calls for euthanasia from the young. Because the young are more pro-family. This life not getting easier and easier every year and you not getting more and more of what you want every day will be the character building experience and reason we don't kick out our mothers.
What does being wise means, really...?! And why we think being wise gives us a ticket to the Untouchable club... Intelligence doesn't safe you from doing stupid things...and wiseness doesn't lead you to safe pastures all the time...
