My sincere apologies (10)

Recently I posted a story from a news feed I receive about the FBI files and ML King.

I thought it was 'titillating' and quickly posted it without giving it further thought.

Martin Luther King was an inspiration to many (including myself) altho he had many faults as a man.
As a man he was given over to passions (as are we all from time to time).
I had no right to post these besmirchings of a man who could not defend himself against such allegations.
The story has zero relevance in todays society and I am sorry that I posted it.
I am not so sure that this story was leaked by a corrupt agency to further promote unrest in this country.
If anyone was offended please except my sincere apologies as I repent of such salacious behavior.

What I posted is NOT me, and for the life of me I do not understand why I posted it.
Because I did, simply means I MUST work on myself.
MLK was assassinated and shed his blood paying the ultimate price for the cause of liberty. THATS what we all should remember. He paid the price with blood. (A holy thing)
I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Afro Americans that have given of their time, talents and substance to make America great.
I am truly ashamed and wish the mods would just take it down.

I've contacted Customer Service to delete the thread with my sincere apologies.

I am NOT apologizing for anything that I post unless it hurts someone innocent no matter how true the post may be.
My purpose here is NOT to cause continued strife but to get people thinking. So I will continue to post that which I believe to be thought provoking.
I know MANY Americans hold MLK in high esteem, regardless of his faults as a man. As far as denigrating the man's memory; there is no useful purpose in that. It was an error on my part. To which I apologized for.

Whether you agree or disagree with my apology... is not the point. Whether the story is true or not is not the point.
The point is simply I reposted a salacious story that I now realize... (from a simply humanitarian view) that I shouldn't have. To me the point is common decency.
I'm not sorry that common decency doesn't seem to mesh with your idea of conservatism, rather in your case... it seems to fit.
