donal63: no,always embrace all cultures,when it arises.
Makes me think of culturing specimens...how quickly that is put back to the front of memory...
When people in a culture believe strongly in a given religion, it can have a huge impact on their culture. Their culture comes to accept only those behaviors and ways of thinking that are acceptable to their religion. For example, we can say that many Muslim countries today are strongly affected by Islam.

0f course you have to bare in mind the danger of being misunderstood when dealing with different cultures... And if I have a different attitude towards some cultures, it's because of survival instinct and not respect...

Hi Krem, where have you been. I agree with you totally on this issue...
Many European countries lived under foreign rule for centuries. Reacting differently, depending on the person you are facing is deeply encrusted. Even after the empires have gone, imperial knee jerk reactions keep showing up. Better to remain vigilant.

smiley963 I know you must be having a real hard time culture wise where you live. Most people in the Northern hemisphere don't even know what is happening in S.A today, our MSM doesn't even mention it.. I know . My take on your question of culture. Yes I do think people should have their own culture and traditions but I don't agree they go to other countries and try to impose their own beliefs on the local population either.. You can never have someone with an IQ of 62 understanding someone with an IQ of 102 and vise versa.

Really? Are you sure? I don't think IQ determines a persons ability to communicate. IQ is a manmade measurement, and like most manmade things, one size rarely fits everyone.
smiley963: Some people will always react a certain way, disregarding culture, way of living, nationality, creed, colour, etc
Now you get the type that don't even need to open theirs mouths, well you do want to hear the intonation, and you pin-point them in an instant.
But note this is not a site where you will hear, but only see. You get to organise the bells and whistles to your individual taste...

React minimally towards every culture but your own. The first casualty of diversity is communication, it's based on things going unsaid because the risk of causing offence is so great... until the money dries up and you come to blows. And it's the social crippling of affluence; the country relies way too much upon keeping up with appearances and watching yourself like a hawk but it's asking too much for everyone to be that self-conscious and middle class and personally guarded. Especially when the money runs out.
And that's why mass immigration doesn't work. If it was only rich people it doesn't matter what culture you are, that's just money culture to be that fluid but the same cannot be said for fathers and sons from the dirt. That best friend or worst enemy nature of the working class turns nasty without a sense of your own, immigration really requires bourgeoisie indifference to all.

it all depends on the person, most of us do not react the same in certain situations, but some do. There are people in the world who stay stuck in their anger or sadness, thus they have a hard time reacting differently.
