Well, it's very addictive and it ruins lives if people aren't strong enough to know when to stop. I sometimes put some change in the fruitsmachine, and sometimes I have nothing, sometimes I just win my money back, sometimes I have a small winning and then I've had a free evening in the pub, and sometimes I win big, and then I put that money on a different bankaccount where I use to safe for my summerholiday.
Friskyone: I like to gamble, especially when I win. I'm usually pretty lucky but I don't go very often.
you only win, when they think you are going to return and spend much more, than you ever won...it's a tactic they use to bait and catch out greedy people, who think they are winning, when in reality they are losing big

Well I don't consider the casino can or do bait me because it's very seldom that I go. I've always won more than I put in and I've won quite a lot each time. Also, I'm not a greedy person. I usually end up sharing my winnings with my daughter and sister and treat my self to something special.
M4_Mischief: Well its run by the government here so I guess its still the same....but I still enjoy it and by enjoy it I mean once every 10 yrs or so......
Nothing wrong with the rare gamble on the old slot machines, like the one armed bandit do you know about the casinos being run by the mob

they do let people win...it's a long term plan of getting them to return, cause their greed and addiction takes control...you have experienced the highs of winning, but it's all those other folk, who need the fix of a gamble and one win is never enough...but the loses are indescribable...it's good that you share you winning with another and don't get hooked
M4_Mischief: yes that's how vegas got started....I have been and had an awesome time....
the casinos were built on blood money, illegal crime, murder, blackmail and the mob will always be involved in the gambling racket, cause it's a massive money maker and funds their illegal activities
Not all casino's give free drinks like they all did at one time...If I am going to lose 3-4 hundred dollars, please do fill me up with good booze!!!...Cheers, Wld without the Bill

I do agree that a lot of people who gets lured in and beco.e addicted. It's very sad and not so easy to overcome. The casino offers a "players club" card which tracks your winnings but then they give you what they call "free play" on their cards. The more you spend, the more free play you get monthly. This is a huge scam to get you in their casino and do you think that the "free play" allows you to win off that, hell NO! Not good! Those are the people who REALLY need to stay home.

I used to work in a casino in Reno, Nevada many years ago, I loved doing so. But I rarely ever gambled, I just knew the chances, which are not very good, the house mostly wins. And yes, it does ruin lives, wastes money, our casino wasn't owned by the mob, yes people get VERY addicted, yes it's a negative thing, I don't know what "mugs game" is, must be a British thing, and yes it does create greed, so much so people steal to gamble. I've seen so much over there in Reno. Crazy times, but fun. A totally different lifestyle to say the least. It was fun to work there when I was young but still, I was not a gambler.
