What's respect? It's a relative term. Do you 'respect' an abusive partner, simply because she's female? I think 'respect' is a standard trope that is used to avoid more critical analysis. You can't be respectful to people who don't deserve it.------ This thread is Archived ------

Where in my comment did I give a pass to an abusive partner. I did not. But I did point out when there is a lack of respect on either side it creates problems. Would not an abusive partner be classified as having a lack of respect?Sometimes critical analysis is just another form of nitpicking.
