Religion is a disease we inherit from our parents. However, getting over it can be troublesome, so the cure should be avoided unless the disease gets really bad--preaching or jihad.

No.We obey our parents. They obey theirs and so we obey theirs. And so there came to be a many times removed parent worshipped as god. He could even still be alive: Paroah.
It wasn't designed; it happened naturally as part of family. Something most of us rely on at one time or another.

I was the oldest of six and the only one who asked questions about God etc.
It took me about 5 years of searching when I found my answers.

I'll try to be sensitive and say something that makes sense! 
death is a door that will get you out of this earth! No more suffering and causing others suffering! Death will bring you to another realm( the Spiritual one) :: you will see the One who has been watching you, all the time that you were alive in the flesh! Since you will be in the realm of the Spirit!

I'm not so quick to dismiss the written history of thousands of years of the Hebrews and Israelites as well as Roman because of the gentiles on CS who reveal their limited understanding.
100 years ago before mankind knew "air" existed as a physical element ( O2) they would've defined air as wind or 600 years ago... they would've said the earth is flat. Why? Because of limited knowledge.
