Well, it seems the earth is warming up, and last days it's good to feel in my country. An 75!!! year old record has been broken with 1 degree. 1 degree in 75 years and only for a few days. According to the national weather institution 75 years ago it was only in our own area and now it is worldwide. Well, I guess they can't know how accurate the facts of other countries are. But they say it's because of the acts of us people, and in the last 150 years it's going straight up. That makes me wonder, for in the past we cooked on coals, our ships, trains and factories run on coals. Every lamp burned on oil etc. Everyone had heathers running on coals and later on gas, now it's all radiators. In the 80's we had the sour rain and everyone was forced to by a catalysator for his car for a lot of money. Since early '90's we heard there was a hole in the ozonlayer. Well, I guess that's closed for we don't hear anything about it. The farmers are one of the groups that's accused and they have to do anything to stop it. In the Netherlands many farmers quitted and many farmers have less cattle, while some big farmers have over 100.000's of pig and over 10.000 cows. But we don't hear anything about McDonalds and the Burgerking who are selling hamburgers by millions and get low tax-deals.
We also see how Brasilia is destroying the rainforrest in high speed. Why are there no economical sanctions against that country, why are we buying wood from them? It's obvious the politic leaders and the big companies are only thinking of money, and I guess they pay the media to keep quiet.
Be critical on what you hear and read, don't believe anything, but first think before you act! In the mean time, we can do something by boycotting McDonalds and the Burgerking and other companies that are all the same.
The media, the politicians and the big companies, they are lying and they only think about the money. Be aware my friends.

So it was very hot 75 years ago , was that global warming or was it just hot ? World is due for a bad drought , happens every 20 years or so . Most of the large urban fires have been in these periods , London 1666 , Chicago 1871 , so whats new . It will be interesting , if thats the right word , if a world wide drought hits this year with the african swine fever , army worm eating a 5th (already) of china's wheat . Be a good time for farmers if they can produce anything worth selling . The real problem is kids , kids in the media who have no idea and have nothing better to do than print global warming dogma . In the 1600 screamers were walking around with sanwich boards screaming the end is nigh , now they have smartphones pity the phone owners brains don't match the intellect of their phones
Waiting for the next one , its coming , thought it was here last year as it got very hot , had a dry summer as it turned out . Like they used to be when I was a kid .
Been quite wet here since summer broke , 60mm just this week , several events around a 100 over a few days , we follow Aus into the droughts ,its coming sooner or later . Sorts the men from the boys a good drought . Been close to the boys twice , 81-82 and 97-98 droughts . Effects of them nailed others around here , out the back door . They were carrying too much debt .
John keeps a record January 21mm February 49mm March 66mm April 2mm May 44mm June 74mm July 26mm Grand total = 282 mm So not a lot, 11 inches this year 2019.

But even if humans are responsible for 0.01% of the global warming, than it must be the radiation and the destroying of the rainforrest. Of course our governments will do nothing against that and blame others, there's too much money involved. The big companies can buy any politician.
Since 1978 over 750,000 square kilometers (289,000 square miles) of Amazon rainforest have been destroyed across Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana, and French Guiana.
The weather does seem to be extreme although maybe it won’t be so bad for everyone. Britain gets to watch the continent fry. Anybody for more pineapple?
Brief bursts of heat steal the headlines, but it’s the persistent cold that’s the real story of 2019 so far, and not just in South America either — North America just averaged it’s coldest Oct-May in recorded history, while practically ALL of Europe was anomalously cold during the first 3 weeks of July before this two day plume was tossed-up from Africa (wavy jet stream flow, see links below for more).
The time to prepare is now.

Cold Peru: “We are going through one of the most Intense Winters in 50 years” July 26, 2019 Cap Allon
Lima, the capital of Peru, is going through one of its coldest winters in almost 50 years, according to the National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology, with this year even surpassing the truly brutal 2018 season.
“Lima is currently recording minimum temperatures around 14.7C,” said climatology expert Lourdes Menis Álvarez of Senamhi. “As for maximum temperatures, we are around 17.5C.”
Comparing these temperatures to the 2018 season, which itself was one of the coldest winters on record, Álvarez found that this year has been significantly cooler to date, with temps ranging on average between 1C to 1.5C colder.
According to Álvarez, these types of cold winters were once common-place in Lima. Of late, however, strong El Niños have brought “long summers and warm winters” to the region.
Though the tide is clearly now turning. Álvarez: “The winter of 2018 was one of the coldest in almost 50 years. However, the winter of 2019 has already surpassed it in intensity.”
The cold times are returning, in line with historically low solar activity:

Maybe all the plastic in the ocean is also a big thread for us, for plastic reflects the sunlight, and mostly it's drifting on the surface. But I believe when we plant a lot of trees worldwide and stop the damage done to the rainforrest, we might change things, especially when we also can clean the oceans from all the plastics.
How about creating fish that only eat plastic. That would be great. But I'm quite sure we'll never succeed in that.

world is facing global warming due to some particular reasons. Hi Pek
My 1 acre property is surrounded by a 40 acre parcel of woods owned by a rather well off man who came with his parents from the Netherlands. When the parents died he inherited the land and in early 2016 he hired a logger to come in and cut all the trees down and sell the wood. They didn't selectively cut only the big Oaks and Poplar and mature Pine trees, they clear cut everything. I lost count of the number of tractor trailer loads they hauled out of there. This operation went on for months. The irony of this was that here was a man from a country which has a lot to lose from rising sea level but he's speeding up the process by cutting down the very things which were helping to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. I guess the money he got for the lumber outweighed any concern he may have had for the future of his homeland.

well, we first will have to see if the Brexit will be a disaster, for we don't want that for the Netherlands, we are allready one of the biggest financers of the eu if you look at what we are paying/divided by the number of people living here. But I agree, the sooner, the better. I have been in the UK many times and I love it overthere. Nice people, nice landscapes, only the cities aren't the best, especially Birmingham and Manchester.
