Are you sure your not thinking of the Queen's first televised Christmas speech?
She ascended the throne upon the death of her father in 1952 and was coronated in 1953.
There may have been clips from the coronation as part of the broadcast.
I googled to see if a non-Brit was coronated that year and came across a pic of George VI and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) being coronated, but it was incorrectly labelled as having taken place 12th June 1957, instead of 12th June 1937.

I remember a very big "todo" on TV that year and it was with a lot of pomp and circumstance from I think it was England, I've always remembered it as the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth but it was so long ago my memory could be faulty. Maybe they made Chuckie, uh Prince Chuckie, Prince of Wales that year, just guessing. The Queen's was in 53.
