Do you remember the first thread you posted in when you joined CS?

I don't remember the name of the thread but I remember the first person I responded to. For fear of other CS members scolding me if I gave his name or fear of the mods scolding me I'll keep his name private.

This was back in 2006. The day I joined this certain person was having a bad day throughout the thread. I didn't know anything about him. I just remember coming across a thread where he was very unhappy.

In fact he was having a meltdown. He said he was leaving CS and never coming back. I felt sorry for him and tried to comfort him in the thread. He didn't know who I was so he ignored my post as well as other posters.

He was gone from CS for awhile. When he came back he was a different person, calm and funny. I see him almost everyday on here and I'm so glad that he is what appears to be content with his life.

Isn't it strange how after all these years of being on CS I still remember vividly that one particular post I wrote to someone who felt that people didn't understand him. The strangest thing about it is it was my first post.

Do you remember your first thread, or the first person you responded to?

Holy Smokes wow You've been here a long time M4.

I don't remember Kentucky the troll hunter. Sounds like he was probably a colorful poster.

Is M4 the name you joined CS with?

That's Bruno, he's my sons Staffordshire Bull Terrier and really well behaved. I still miss the Hound very much, it's been well over 2 years now since he went, he was irreplaceable.
I'm still climbing, in fact we did a lovely climb last week . It was a classic 260ft classic route in North Wales.

I don't remember the first thread I posted on, but I think I remember the first person who greeted me when I first ventured nervously onto the international forums.
People with better memories than me will remember his full username better than me, but his name was Larry, an American, and I think he may have worn a cowboy hat. He was a regular back then.

mollybaby: Aw Vinny is a pet. I miss him from the forums.

Strangely enough, looking back over old threads from when I started, although there are more rubbish ones by the same few multi-posters, the themes haven't really changed a lot
I miss Vinny too. He was here for a couple hours about a month ago. Things perked up when they saw Auntie Vinny in the forums laugh

But ya know Molly, we used to have deep discussions. Not that I want to discuss it now but I remember one day there was a heated discussion on believing in God. At the time I was religious but I lost that about 10 years ago. RDM kept trying to convince me that it was baloney and I kept telling him that you have to have faith. When I used the word faith he showed me how I was wrong. Enough of that.

I remember the first thread I posted. It was about a mother, father and two sons. One son was favored over the other son. The son that wasn't favored killed his brother with a shotgun. The thing that made the story interesting is that the father forgave the killer son. Totally forgave him. That was a big thread.

Nice seeing to Molly bouquet

Haha, if I ever got the chance to climb El Cap, I think a rope or two would be a major consideration.
