Canadian election was today, Trudeau won a minority government which means he will probably have to be propped up by a third party to maintain control of the government.

The NDP here took on a few more seats...just glad the Conservatives were not elected...

Hell yeah. I was expecting the NDP to do better over all, I think a lot of people voted strategically to make sure Sheer didn't win. I hope their leader stays on though, he is alright.

Netenyahu just gave up on trying to do that ... hopefully Trudeau will have willing takers either - Canada would be better off without the pompous poser pr*ckette!
mikey4691: Oh boy, a thread where bisches aren't bischen about the US... Nice...
Well, your boy Barry Obama isn't exactly squeaky clean here. He interfered with a last minute endorsement of Trudeau in what was expected to be an extremely close election

mikey4691: Obama means nothing to me.. Wake the fuc up
Mikey I'm perfectly aware of that... I was simply pointing out that an American saw fit to try and interfer in a foreign election... Imagine the outrage if Trump had made a last minute appeal to Canadians to vote for the Conservative candidate
Canadians do not like negativity...why Trudeau got elected but it is a minority government...the Conservatives sre too religious and started being disrespectful of women and other minorities...
irish78eyes: What's Canada like!?? I mean to live? Expensive?? Where are the jobs etc and the price of living is it good!
The price of living is a bit high depending on where you are in the country, though rural life is usually less than urban life. There is usually work in Ontario and until recent years, Alberta. My province has little work, people are leaving here in droves, the cost of electricity is set to shoot through the roof here in the next few years.

It doesn't matter who leads a country, as long as he does it in the best interest for the country, in stead of for themselves. Take the dutch prime-minister Mark Rutte, he is lying all the time and nobody believes his lies, but they vote for him, to avoid populism. He even made it a slogan 4 years ago, if you don't want Wilders or Baudet as prime-minister, vote for Mark Rutte, and everything will be ogay. Well, his party, the VVD is a party for the rich people, who want more highways, more speed on the highway, wanna make more money, by robbing the poor via taxes etc.
Fun part is 1% of all the people of the earth have 99% of all the money. so the rich dictate us, and we can only hope for better times.
High taxes means less money in your paycheck, also as far as the economy is concerned it is detrimental as companies cannot afford to pay people as much, anti-stimulus inevitably means increase in unemployment means increase in welfare payments which all means less money for other stuff...
Socialists promise the world and can never deliver it... The fact is to generate more wealth you have to have an environment conducive to business and growth. Which is good news for everybody. On the other hand, socialists promise all this stuff and will inevitably breed resentment as taxes are really high and failure and dejection follow as people struggle with expenses and mass unemployment. Of course people are 'cared' for on a basic level with welfare programs, but really it's a way of keeping masses of people in need of government and makes it harder to break out on your own and succeed.
Track16: I'm lucky, I stay with my mom and she owns the house, no mortgage to pay off. We can get by but there are a lot of people living in poverty here despite probably working 60 hours a week because of low pay and high rent and other expenses.
irish78eyes: Wow, Ireland's property market is a joke too.
Its all the result of living in a capitalist society, the idea is the make as much money as you can, that can have only one result, inflation inflation inflation. A set of Beats headphones sell for over $300 here, actual cost of manufacture is maybe $10 if that. Greed rules our society and as long as our society is structured around capitalism, it will always be this way.
