Inthewoods: Death Valley, California ... Where's the trees at? ... ... ...
I think this is beautiful... the hills in the background make for a beautiful shot. If you want a place with no trees.. you need to visit the Nullarbor ( In indigenous the loose translation is "no-trees".

Thats looks like eastern Colorado, heading towards Kansas... They almost look like the same road in a way, I like roads that don't have fences... ... And... they both look like roads that you don't want to have car trouble on...

Ski train...
The biggest difference is that on the Nullarbour... the no trees extends for a long way and... there is nothing much on it. You will literally drive for hours without a service station. :)
I like your photo of the ski train. That is for the tourists?

I looked up the Nullarbour, I thought it would be up north, not on the southern coast, thank you for showing me that... ... I think the ski train is for everyone, tourists and locals alike, they mix well on the train...

You are most welcome. I love exploring new areas. I still haven't driven over the Nullarbor but it's on my list of things to do. My parents lived out there before I was born. :)
