tomcatty: I think the internet is a Godsend in the badweather, I have foundthat ebay and pay pal look after you and afford protection so you don't come unstuck.
Thank goodness I started my shopping in November. I was still able to find good deals and not have to deal with the crowds when I didn't buy online. Glad I'm done and I didn't break the bank either thank goodness, I got lucky.

Kidwell_: What did you gifted yourself?
The first time I gifted myself for Christmas was the new model of an electronic Singer sewing machine.
It had all the bells and whistles to make clothes look professional. I used to make my clothes and evening dresses for my mother. I still have that machine.
I held off on buying another big flat screen (for the bedroom), name brand 65" selling for less than $400. Instead I opted to pool my money into buying a western painting up for an auction which I had placed a pre-bid on. The day of the auction (I was bidding via online as the auction was taking place in Montana) my computer decided to act up and I missed the bid and the artwork sold for only $10 above my bid. I was furious! The painting was worth several thousand dollars.

Between impulse purchases and Christmas gifts, it's been an expensive week or so
