galrads: Yep, and no front suspension either. Those bike engines with opposing cylinders are great to ride in cold weather. their heads keep you feet warm.
I don't ride anymore, but I liked my front shocks, and my mono shock on the rear.. They made landings easier.. thumbs up I was whimpy that way..

Pikes Peak Hillclimb 2021 ... yay ... laugh

It's been four years in the making, but finally the BimmerWorld Bergsteiger E36 M3 Hill Climb Monster is finished and headed to Colorado for the 99th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Up until now the car has been running a stock BMW Motorsport P63 (found in an M8 GTE - rated at 592hp) in stock form with upgraded turbos from Weistec Engineering that stretched the power to the mid to upper 600's to the tire. Plenty for us to get LOTS of testing and development underway while we had another P63 in the works - deemed the "big" motor. It's the same displacement, but worked inside out by Roush Engines in Livonia, Michigan so that we can increase the power well over 1,000 so we can hang with the big boys up at 14,000ft! ... wow ... wave

Next stop, Pikes Peak... laugh

I remember the Texaco man in brown uniform coming to my car asking if I wanted him to check the oil.
He filled the gas tank and washed the windows without me asking.
And something that I have a problem with now is putting air in my tires.
Back in the day when service people would be glad to help especially if you were a woman and they were polite.

Now I can't squat because of two knee replacements and bending over is difficult so it's very hard to find someone to put air in my tires.
I think I've seen air pumps that I could step on to put air in the tires but I don't know if it would be a waste of money.

M, there are a lot of Tire stores around that will check your car’s tire pressure and fill or adjust to recommended pressure for Free. It’s an opportunity for these tire stores to evaluate potential customer’s tires and suggest replacements, discounts and safety issues. Tire Discounters co. Here usually has long lines of people wanting the free service today. Check it out. wave

I usually tip the checkers with either a fiver or ten bucks depending upon the weather.

Inthewoods: ... I will never forget the test drive I took back in Des Moines while visiting my big brother, it was a 1963 Impala SS with the dual quad 409, 4-speed and post traction... I went through a quarter tank of gas in my 45 minute test drive...

... 409 ... ...

^^ This 78 model looks just like the one I had.. It had the monoshock rear suspension... It's a wonder I didn't kill myself several times.. The luck of the young I guess... laugh

Smart idea for baby! Back to the 50s is on in Minneapolis this weekend. You know, that city with all the riots. And the kicker...severe storms tonight with hail, rain, wind. Trailer queens can go back inside. What do the rest do, run that open roadster into your motel room?dunno laugh
