When I was in Jr HS, My mother decided that I needed to go for "Religious Instruction" to prepare me to receive "Confirmation" ie become a "Soldier of god". I got a pass to leave school an hour early and go to a nearby church 2 times a week for a few months. It was cool getting out of school but the time at church was even more boring than school what with having to memorize a bunch of useless scripture.

Anyway, one day as the class was letting out the priest gestured for me to stay behind, he wanted to have a word with me. After the last kid left the room the priest walked around to the front of his desk and sat down on top of the desk facing the classroom. He motioned for me to come closer and when I was standing in front of him, he wrapped his legs around me. I was absolutely shocked and I'm sure it must have shown on my face because my eyeballs almost popped out. With both hands I pushed myself away from him and made my way out of the room. That was the last time I ever attended his class. I never told my mother what happened because she probably wouldn't have believed me anyway.

There were stories told among the kids about how some of them were taken down to the basement of the church by this priest and made to stand with their arms outstretched like a cross til they couldn't hold them up, if they sagged down they would have to perform some kind of penance but nobody was willing to say what that was.

In general, it was boys that were abused more, as they were more readily available..altar boys etc.
But predators are not too fussy.

When I was quite young, I hitch hiked all over the place...I was about 12. A man picked me up to give me a ride...he kept leaning towards me, and put his hand on my knee, doh I was shocked, I moved his hand off of me...going about 40 MPH was to fast to jump out, I noticed a red brick on the floor by my feet....He put his hand on me again as he slowed down for a traffic signal, I grabbed that brick, smashed it hard into his face and jumped out of the car...dunno Sorry for his luck, he just had a bad day! dunno

Stupid Mutha Fracker, mumbling laugh mumbling

And he should be glad that I was nice about it..I am sure he got to visit the Emergency Room, and the Dentist... True story...roll eyes

I probably could have cut off his tally Whacker..mumbling

Man that's shocking but when we are young and hitchhiking its a very vulnerable position to be in. I've hitchhiked all up and down the west coast and never had a bad experience but I now realize it was just sheer good luck. A couple times I could tell they were leaning that way but I was able to get out before anything progressed.
I hope that brick wasn't hurt when his face hit it. Not sure if you could live with yourself if anything happened. Thankfully bricks are hardy.

I used to hitchhike all over the place, and numerous miles, that is the first and only time that I ever had a problem with anyone, he got the brick hard to the face, I would have no problem living with myself in such a situating of protecting myself, I did not look back. Sometimes I had someone hitchhiking with me, I had hitchhiked to New Orleans and back one from Missouri, but had a friend with me...
Actually the thread was more on the subject of Clergy. My post may have been a little off of topic...but that was my only time that I was put in that type of situation.

20 pounds is a lot to pay for a rabbit ... but if your boy's as bright as you easy mark for a scammer!

ps Is it a magic rabbit and was it trapped inside an old oil lamp ;-)
