Regrets? We have all had regrets. Sometimes maybe more than a few. We are never to young, or too old to acknowledge them, learn from them, forgive ourselves, so we can move on and try to get our feet planted more solid ground....If we don't forgive ourselves, and others, we only bring misery on ourselves in the long run.

For instance, I have just written to a beautiful 45 year-old stranger in an exotic foreign country.
I told her that she couldn't have me, it was out of the question, and I wasn't going to change my mind.
She was seeking a man, 35 - 45 yrs.

I think I have mostly come to terms with my decisions in my life ... even though the consequences of some of them took years to 'redirect' ... I'm quite good friends with myself

No, that's not true. It is not better to regret something you did than something you didn't do.If you said something to someone that caused them to take drastic steps you will live with that the rest of your life. You planted a seed that you can never take back. There are several stories in the news where people coaxed someone to take their own life. One of them the person is in jail and probably regretting what they did.
A member wrote a thread a day or two ago that he regrets never following up to ask her girl in high school for a date and now she is married with two children. He regrets not asking her but his action didn't cause her to do anything that would make a negative mark on her life. He will get over it.

I've had regrets throughout life but I learned from them and they have made me who I am today. So I try not to make the same mistakes and I've educated my daughter to always think twice and go with your gut. It's always a work in progress.
