I think the snow itself has slacked off or stopped, the winds though have picked up and is well over 100 kph. Supposed to be windy all day tomorrow so we won't get anywhere until the day after. The problem with the wind is blowing snow, it causes whiteouts and you just can't drive safely in it.------ This thread is Archived ------

The winds were hurricane strength. Its still windy today though the snow has stopped. I just looked out the door and seen a drift up the height of my shed :/I'm guessing it is like when hurricane force winds hit here.

We have more ice here, it is about as thick as a slice of bread outside my door, and in my driveway...
The good new is we still have power...
I am only assuming that you still have power, or I figure you would have mentioned it...
I walked out to the mailbox last night and it was not so fun...I was about ready to slide on my butt, back down the drive to keep from falling...

Not everyone loved it, there was a avalanche in a part of St. John's and people had to be evacuated. Some people who had houses near the water lost them due to the huge waves and storm surge. This was a bad storm that will be remembered.------ This thread is Archived ------

We are windy, but nothing like that, we are 59 kph.... 35-40 MPH, gusts but supposed to be picking up... Where you are, I only guess that it will not melt until spring..More snow in the forecast for Sunday

Wow Track! Impressive! When I live in UK the second a few snow flake fell, all the train service would grind to a halt 'because the wring type of snow' prevenyed the rails ftom working
I wonder how the UK would manage with your type of snow?
