I have just received a message from a stranger on CS. The message was so intellectually fascinating, all other parameters immediately fell by the wayside. Can one fall in love with a mind, instead of a face or a body?
I wrote back, "You're more than a pretty face." She wrote back, "I am that too."
OnlyLiveTwice: As with Christmas presents, it is often the case that not only is the wrapping far more attractive than the gift itself, but the gift is a boring scarf with a faux Burberry print. In other words, cheap and nasty. Packaging is not everything.
I would never be given a gift like that
Anyway, what I was saying was that although their personality and intelligence are of highest importance, they are not do important that physical attributes count for nothing. I like an attractive package and am not afraid to say it

Ok, we seem to have quorum here. We all want a nice package. But what's the tipping point between a lovely mind and an average package? Are we prepared to compromise?

As for your question, yes the mind can beat an average body as long as that average body isn't repulsive to me, and he cares about it.
I agree. I have once been bowled over by a vivacious, scintillating Colombian, so effusive and communicative, that all else became academic. That said, she did possess an awesome rack. That did play a part in the chemistry, to be fair.
OnlyLiveTwice: Synergy....the etymology thereof: 'energy plus sin.'
That sounds about right.
For me emtional intelligence and kindness have become super important. Academic intelligence and knowledge that have not been processed into human significance are of no interest to me. Reference material can be found all over the net, I don't need 'a walking dictionnary, thesaurus or reference book' to hug and share my life with. And then there's the eyes and the story they tell... And then there's the sense of humour and how life's little frustrations are handled... And then there's do we have similar lifestyles and are they compatible ... And then there's enjoying one another's company... And then there's that spark ... And then physically, the one thing I find difficult to imagine myself with is a man who is physically flabby... how could he dance flamenco or tango with me if he's flabby? I prefer the wiry look to the chubby boyish look. But what I like most is an attractive mind and personality
