Do you mean 'expat' and 'emigrant' ?They are both leaving a place while an immigrant is arriving in a place
Expat to me means a person who has sufficient wealth to reside in a country of choice, while possibly retaining citizenship of the country they have departed from therefore having the ability to travel back and forth.
While an emigrant departs for a country intending to take up permanent residence.
