And that seems to be the prognosis at the present time, what are your chances of surviving? If you're overweight, a smoker, preconditions, a diabetic, over 60, or have a compromised immune system, your chances are not fabulous. Maybe this pandemic is the great equaliser. We're all human, and no amount of money can save you this time. Some goverment officials have stated that, according to pro medical opinion, up to 70% of the population will get infected. Covid-19 will become as ubiquitous as the common cold. You can't isolate at home forever you know...So how do you feel in the face of your own potential mortality? Are you having a moment of serendipity, of existential reckoning?....
.... or are you changing channels on Netflix?
Oh, while you're in the kitchen, get me another beer, willya?
Over the social media I have seen so many good, bad and indifferent comments on Covid-19. I guess people have different mind sets on how to cope with something so serious.
Fact is I'm worried at my age and it has certainly made me think about my lifestyle. I feel for those having well earned holidays cancelled ,businesses that will go to the wall due to lack of trade. The list is endless.
I'm not a doom and gloom person , but just wish people would stop cracking jokes about this killer virus. It really is not funny.
HexagonKeySet: Your immune system is probably compromised by the amount of booze you consume, but on the other hand alcohol is s very effective disinfectant eh ?
Y'll die when your number is called ... and no amount of fretting will add or take away an hour to your allotted time !
Pharts !!!
Mine is compromised by an underactive thyroid. I'd rather die of old age and I'm already 80 .

get ready for the new reality. We all are going to "get it", and this is the new "world".
The median incubation period - estimated to be 5.1 days (95% CI, 4.5 to 5.8 days), and 97.5% of those who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days (CI, 8.2 to 15.6 days) of infection.
These estimates imply that, under conservative assumptions, 101 out of every 10 000 cases (99th percentile, 482) will develop symptoms after 14 days of active monitoring or quarantine.

Well, we have to wait and see, for me, I stay at home as much as possible, trying to collect food in the stores for a few days. I don't have a car or a bog fridge, so I can't have to much fresh food at home for it will spoil. I can't work the coming weeks, but as long as they pay me, and because I don't eat out or go to the pub these days, it even saves me money. I will have some fun at home on the internet or doing some homeimprovement. So there's a very small chance I will get infected.
if i dont have it then i have the next closest thing to it....its week six of being sick for me and i have never been so sick in my entire life with no reprieve in sight.......
I’m a bit worried about my parents but the longer we can go without catching it the better our odds will be. Immunity of the herd, experience with treatments, errors in the replication of the virus, and there are some people the virus just loves making a great wave of infection out of; a genetic low-hanging fruit who are not necessarily old or sick.
But ideally we slow down and channel the spread into everybody under 60.

Stay safe.
Am right there with you....and am a bit affected by this social distancing....as an artist am use to working alone but I do socialize and that is not an option....also usually am a rather positive person but this distancing....and the gloomy weather...and since I am visiting a family and then got stuck here...am so concerned about going anywhere and bringing it back to this family....so have been in isolation for days....am staying with a couple that is much older than me..and they are into keeping the news on all day long....that is enough at least for moi to hear and at times see over and over the devasatio in the world... having to give myself pep talks....

OMG..........I am so sorry M4 that you are this sick
Up until today I stayed in the house, afraid to go in a store Yesterday my daughter picked up some groceries for me. I told her to take money out of my bank account because I don't want money that has been in the store registers to come into my house. That all worked fine but I forgot a couple things to ask her to get so today I took a chance and went out.
I tried to keep my distance from people but some are just ignorant about what is going on and they will walk close enough to bump into me.
I brought groceries into the house and immediately washed my hands. In the process of washing hands I paid attention to the steps I was taking. Soap, warm water, sing happy birthday. The next thing people should pay attention to is when you turn the faucet off do it with the back of your hand or use a paper towel to turn it off and then throw it in trash.

Here in Florida, we have a grocery store, Publix, who is making Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, from 7-8 AM, just for seniors over 65....maybe one of your grocery stores will follow their lead.
I miss the hugs from my grandchildren..I Facetime with them...it is just not the same.
