We are all advised to stay at home and I also stopped working, so I've been online a lot these days. I thought that maybe we could all give each other some sort of support during these days, have some fun, simply BE with other people but it seems that the situation affects people quite the opposite way. It looks like people got terribly irritated, nervous and prone to fighting.
Yesterday evening I went on a local forum (I've been a member of for ages) and people got completely crazy. They fought with each other, even resurrected some old and forgotten fights they were having years ago. It was a complete mess. Whatever one wrote, there was someone replying with an annoying comment. I logged out and decided to avoid them for the time being.
If the virtual communities break down and social media become places filled with the worst-case scenarios and people fighting with each other over nothing - we will probably have to focus on ourselves and give the introspection a chance. Maybe we realize that we don't need people so much or that we need them a lot. Maybe we realize that virtual people cannot be a substitution for real people or that we are quite OK living mostly in virtual worlds.
What do you think? How does this situation affect you?
Yes I have seen that some folk in bad times SHINE others get worse especially on internet as they do not expect a punch for their bad language r goading someone.
However some people you would never think help give a lift up.
It will be as always. It will bring out the good in some, the bad in others, the selfishness in some, the good humour in others, the scaremongerers, the fatalists, political divides and religious nuts
I'm a people person so for a few days I was struggling....Still finding my way but for me it was a case of accepting reality instead of having my head in the sand...I think it's been fine on cs especially the blogs where most are supporting all and that's helped me a lot..

does it affect me? yes it does ...in which way ? Well in my personal opinion ,sacrificing freedom for the illusion of safety is not an option -rebellion is our duty

You're damn right Dedo!
Especially the "illusion of safety" when there's not even any logic nor consistency in the rules they're imposing on us.
I've started to work from home last Monday untill further noticed. It safes me travel time and I can be outdoors more often, especially as we got sunny (though cold) weather.
I'm introvert, so social interaction by digital means is quite ok for me.
For a time...turn off the TV and the computer..........much on both is full of fear-driven oratories with little basis in fact and a huge agenda to make people panic......some even lie: like the "news' who showed 'dead bodies due to the virus' but was discovered by a viewer to be a clip from a movie........ turn that off.at least for a time, and find that "Place" within you....a place where you can discover who YOU are.......This is a PERFECT time for this.....maybe better than you could ever create for yourself. Usually, one only gets unexpected 'time off' when they are sick. Seek the 'Inner You' and build upon that knowledge that you can take with you when things settle out.
AI_1984: They're slowly and surely taking CONTROL over the whole population.
Next it will be the vaccines which we will be "forced" to have. For what? Prevention? More fear mongering...hence more CONTROL!!
Next will be the microchip.. What for? To make our life simpler? NOpe!! To be able to track our every move..and CONTROL us even more!
All you say might be true, but goverments are finding their way in this. My own government was slow on lockdowns but they caught up quickly and people agreed with this, the alternative being too horrendous. But the policing of the lockdowns is different, in Lancashire for example 60 fines of £60 hane been issued some fot people buying Easter eggs. This is counter productive. Take it softly you guys
We continue working from home. Had "morning coffee" with my colleagues via Zoom, discovered to great surprise for myself that I was missing them. La jefa said that it's quite possible that we'll meet in person first time in autumn. Feels weird. Until that: Zoom, phone and mail.
For (most) people trying to learn introspection during a crisis is akin to a non swimmer falling off the back of a fast moving cruise ship trying to learn how to swim. Their full attention being on 'on the immediate danger / the present moment crisis blocks out their capacity for effective new learning... That's why cruise ship carry life-rings and not a screen showing videos on how to swim ... people CAN grasp the ring !

I love the solitude- as Wordsworth said "solitude is bliss"- but having to use clorox instead of alcohol (cant get any) sucks. It's a great chance to meditate and get new revelations about work and life.

Hello Hermit ! I assume Life is a social experiment, it's even an incredible adventure that needs to be shared to be worthy... Just my opinion.
