Your Country, presumably South Africa, and yourself... I would say a flat battery is a small issue in comparison. But you could always run your car for about 5 minutes a week if you're worried. Or a battery charger every 6 weeks or so.

Did the bear bite off your fingers, as you can't answer a simple question anymore?
P.S. If the battery is flat you would not be able to start the car to charge the battery in the first place. Everything does not go according to your instructions.
A dead car battery will deteriorate over time due to the porous Lead plates being saturated with Sulfuric acid (H2SO4). This will shorten the life of the battery. A fully charged battery will last years longer than one that has been left dead for an extended period of time. This is a major reason "wet" car battery sellers keep their stock on Trickle Chargers.
Yeah pretty much... The lead sulphate clings to the lead plates by the charge, if the battery goes flat the particles are not held on very strongly, a sudden movement or jolt, they fall off. if enough fall off and accumulate on the bottom, the plates short out and the battery is finished. Such is the cyclical relationship between lead, lead sulphate, and sulphuric acid...

I thought I made it clear: I use my car to get groceries, when required. It is put on a Trickle Charger, when not in use. I hope it is not mis-construed this time?
