Well, we had a big party here a couple of years back, the evening before our king was celebrating his birthday. So I went to a concert next to a pub with some friends and ended up drunk, sleeping on the cyclepath.
Police came by, gave me a ticket, had to pay €90 for being drunk in public, and left me there sleeping all night, still in the middle.of the cyclepath laying over my bicycle.

Next day took a taxi home, left my bike where it was.

I decided not to accept the fineand wrote to the judge that I just was fallen from my bike and couldn't remember anything anymore. But because of my health I wasn't allowed to drink alcohol. The police left me laying on the street, that's not the way to treat ill people.
I got a message back that I didn't had to pay.
Well, it was the last time I was drunk...

I'd just had some major front end work done on my '93 corsica back around 1998. The officer clocked me at 97 mph in a 55 zone while I was putting the front end and braking system through the paces after the repairs. It is a true habit of mine unless I'm the only driver. For the corsica, I wasn't the only driver. My wife to be and the kids were in this vehicle a lot as I primarily drove a small pick up truck for my daily routines.

I told the officer the truth as he was contemplating cutting up my license on the spot and taking me to jail. I just got the car from the repair shop with major front end and brake work and I needed to know it was going to be okay for my fiance and kids. I even presented the paper work for the repairs.

He was still angry but let me off with heated verbal warning. I've never been much of one for excuses. If I'm guilty then case closed, let the cards fall where they may. When I have a reason, it's going to be good enough or it won't.

So many close calls I almost forget.

One time was in my early twenties.
A friend and I were partying at a local club looking to sell some weed.
We decided to go smoke a joint and left the club and went to a nearby park.
We were smoking the joint when a car pulled in.
My friend said "It's a cop!"
Blinded by the headlights I said "No... that's a truck"
Well it was a cop and he pulled right up on me while I had the joint in my hand and a deputy sheriff jumped out and said "I caught you! I caught you! Smoking marijuana!"
Undisturbed I took another deep hit then a nose hit (right in from of him) and flicked the roach (butt) straight up in the air above my head where the wind caught it and sailed it out into a field of tall grass.
As I was exhaling in the deputy's face I said "Yep you caught me, I'm not going to lie to you deputy. You're too smart for that (complimenting him)
I ran into my old friend here at the Lighthouse Club shooting pool (billiards) and we wanted to get caught up on old times, so I asked him if he wanted to go smoke a joint with me. He wasn't smoking but I was.(he did smoke but I was absolving him of all responsibility since the cop didn't catch him) and he was telling me about a great place to go squirrel hunting (coming across as a good ol' boy) and then you pulled up and made me throw it away. So unless you can go find the rest out there in the field you've got nothing on me."
The cop said "I should search your car!"
I said "You may search my car if you'd like" (My car was at home. We were in my friend's car. I was giving him permission to search MY car at HOME, not his car. Had the cop searched his, the rightful owners car without permission anything he found in it would've been tossed out in a court of law; 4rth amendment to the constitution; the right to be safe in your property, papers and things/the right NOT to be searched without permission)
At any rate the cop said "Oh...You guys probably don't have anything. Now get the heck out of this park"
Which we gladly abliged.
We had 4 lbs (2 kilos) of weed in the car.
The friend that was with me eventually became this big biker dude... and he swears that under pressure...I'm the coolest dude on earth. laugh

My investment partner had just purchased a 740i BMW and he let me drive it. It was me, him and my ad director in the car.
I got up to 120 mph when a cop tagged me. As he chased me I didn't slow down.
Finally I pulled over and he was furious. "Didn't you see me behind you?!"
I said "Yes"
He demanded "Why in the hell didn't you pull over then?!"
I said "My ex left me for a cop, and I thought it might have been you and you were trying to return her"
We all busted out laughing. After explaining it was a new car and we were just 'trying it out' The cop said "Slow it down!" and let us go. (He also recognized us as 'pillars' in the community. I've raised tens of thousands of dollars for police)
(Yes, its an old joke but I still used it in that scenario)

Another time... A cop pulled me over and asked "Do you know why I pulled you over?"
I said "Because you are lonely, misunderstood and need a hug?"
He just shook his head and said "Your tail light is out, get it fixed" and walked away.

Gosh there are so many times. But those come to mind.
