Why are you afraid to die?? This is for the believers (13)

May 9, 2020 5:24 PM CST Why are you afraid to die?? This is for the believers
I never can understand how people who are religious are afraid to die. If a person truly believes that when they die they are going to heaven then why the fear of death. They say you will be in a better place when you die and if that is the case I would think people would be ready to be in that better place. I had a client the other day and she expressed to me how scared she was of dying in the place I was with her. When I explained to her that I am not saying whether I believe or I don't believe but since you believe in a God can you explain to me the reason for being afraid of dying. I went on to tell her that according to her religion she will be in a better place but she replied, don't want to die in her amongst all these other people. Anyway, everyone is entitled to believe what they believe in but if you go to heaven when you die, or if you get your virgins and whatever else is promised, I am baffled as to the fear of dying.

First off. Most religious people believe in their religion more then they believe in God. For most of them they don't have faith in God but faith in their religion.

Contrary to what God teaches us in the Bible. The so called Christian religions believe performing rituals and doing good things is what gets them to heaven and most probably don't know for sure if they have done enough to make it to heaven.

I 'm a born again Christian and don't fear death and would actually welcome it as I live a lonely pain filled life and there's nothing and no one on this earth I would miss. But for now that's the cross I must bear. I may not fear death but I also don't want to go through the pain of death either so when it comes it comes.

I also believe most born again Christians don't want to die because they have many things on this earth they want to live for. I think family would be number one and even though they know they would most likely see their family in Heaven, they are still human and see things through those human eyes and don't fully grasp what they will receive after death.

I believe some people and Christians the same, are afraid of HOW they are going to die.
Christians and I too am a born again Christian sing in church; "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing it will be"
I would love to know if we have a choice of the work we will be doing.
Most people believe that they will have fun playing on the clouds and listening to the angels playing the harp. That would drive most people bonkers very quick.
If, If I would have a choice of what work I would like to do, I would ask to take care of animals.
Revelations tells us what some Christians will be doing, Praising the Lord for one thing. Singing another.
I also find it interesting that when you ask how they see God you hear; "Oh an old man who writes in a book all day writing down what you did good or bad"
Number one God is spirit. And He is not writing anything down.
When judgement day comes you carry all the good and the bad you have done, in your own head.
Just like a computer's hard drive has all you ever did on your computer saved.
The gospel is so simple really it is people who have made it complicated. You have to do this and you must do that first. Wrong.................
For by grace have you been saved and that NOT of yourself less anyone should boast.
You can not work you way in, but you can Love your way in
You all come, I like to have a very large family up there. teddybear

I'm not afraid. I've made that pretty clear though.

I'm more worried that I could die because of the politics playing out than because it was my time.

I think most people would rather go with a quality of life. However, hospitalized and such, isn't exactly "quality".

I'm still of the same frame of mind. If it ends up because of the politics, maybe I'll get that 5 minutes or so to address how ignorant people are to think they're safer being locked up and even less active. Especially when it's not the pandemic they made it out to be.

Life is wonderful.
I believe we inherently know that and want to stay as long as possible.
Even our bodies produce anti-bodies (without our conscience knowledge) to fight viruses to stay alive.
Even the dumb beasts that lack intelligence will fight to stay alive.

Personally when my time comes... I hope I can accept it, embrace it.
But I'm sure I'll fight as long as I can.

Having died at age 14, I kind of know what's going to happen.
Without going into great detail... not having a body is like being in a type of spiritual prison. You can't talk. You have no physical voice box. You can't feel. You have no physical body. The 5 senses that you relied on in physical life are non existent. You just exist as an "intelligence"; thoughts of your former life.
Then you remember that Jesus Christ will resurrect us. And there is a rejoicing in your intellect.
But in this spiritual realm...SHAME IS (SPIRITUAL) DEATH.
Repent. Become the best person you can possibly be. It is in this life we prepare to meet God.
That's my Sabbath message to you gentiles.

I just watched Houseboat with Sophia Loren and Cary Grant. In one scene, Grant is explaining the afterlife to his youngest boy. I don’t remember exactl the script, but Grant told his son that his spirit/soul was like water stored in one container, his physical body, and when that container was of no use any longer, the water was emptied out to the river again, still present but now a part of the river to travel elsewhere. I thought that was a good way to put it. Anyhow, worrying or pondering about it is rather futile. It is, and will be, well, it is what it is...JMOteddybear

I'm not as worried about dying, only that I don't want whoever to have to settle all my stuff and go through things I've kept for many years. I don't have a will made out and have no clue who to will it to.

We can take walks in Mo where I live but I wear my mask in stores. This is a huge issue and not one taken lightly like Trump did when he knew about it. Sweeping this under the rug for months was his mistake and no one elses. We cannot safely send our children and feel comfortable even going to the grocery store for a short while until we get a Vaccine. Let's not play this down as look at the statistics!

I've always been very dubious of the flat earth believers; Trump's negligence was born of greed and the lust for power. His idea of a Clorox injection was rooted in extreme delusion and vanity.

The truth is based on the science available, not political evil.

There is so much that could have been misinterpreted by you.(about her beliefs)

How she "felt" at this time is when you could have been given her all your empathy and support
in lieu of your needing understanding.

It meant a lot that you were there and cared enough to ask.
I hope you are o.k. too.
