germanspitz: Keep posting Galrads Any light entertainment is welcome.
Loud Mouthed Frog was the title of a children's book that I used to read to my kids. It was about a frog who was always talking about himself, and how great he was; the boastful know-it-all frog.
How does one qualify "best"? If we are going by how many CS members participated in a thread and contributed to it being the longest running thread, and even broke down the post limits allowable per thread, then it was a woman.
In my opinion, the best threads are the ones that make me laugh until my sides hurt. I don't care about a gender, although the best thread I've ever seen was created by a guy who wanted to know if anyone else liked to hump their mattress. The wit of the responses actually made me cry with laughter. That was epic.
The OP wasn't a troll. He was just a sad and confused individual. No amount of trolling or trying to stir up people's emotions can create a great thread. It's a spontaneous and unscripted moment in time,
LeeCharming: Posters have come and gone....many interesting threads have been created...many are remembered...but the question is... Do men or women...create the best threads?
i don't think it's about men or women, but rather about how the OP manages the thread.
some of the things that i think contribute to a good thread are:
interesting topics acceptance/tolerance for views expressed staying on topic some level of moderating by the OP that stays on topic and doesn't get personal these are just a few things....

i like a couple kinds...
i've laughed till i cried many times due to the wit of responses on some threads. i also enjoy my mind being stimulated on some serious subjects...where i have really learn a lot.
and like you have said...they both have been unscripted and spontaneous.

I agree about the serious subjects as well, but aside from current events they've all been done and done and done. I cannot deal with the current events threads, though, since people just regurgitate their "facts" from whatever media they cherry pick.
Aside from current events, the serious threads being created by people like the OP aren't really designed for stimulating discussion. They are a way for an individual to post their point of view. I suspect most of these posters have no other outlet for their thoughts.

i'm kinda on the same page as you. there have been some really awesome threads on here over the years... very thought provoking.. but i agree... done and done and done.
i don't read the politics or current events very often. and i'm not interested in cut and paste. as well...i am talking about real exchanges of ideas, and opinions....serious, thoughtful, and tolerant without personal agendas poorly disguised as discussions.

Years ago on this site we had some great posters and very little aggro. I recall one about the poster and his speedo's which was hilarious. Some of the older members still here will remember but I can't recall his name. Him and Robert the guy from Malta were always at it with the banter.

Ok I will layout the criteria.... 1. Excluding your own created threads 2. Check your posting history 3. Check how many threads were created by women and how many were created by men 4. work out how many comments you made in total on each thread 5. Add together the number of comments you made on women's threads...then Add together the number of comments you made on men's threads It will take some working out...but it's something to challenge all of you and keep some of you out of trouble
You will need to add up and show your result on this thread...before I can determine your claim and validate it to be the truth....Everyone can work it out if they try

To me it's more about the topic, to be honest... And certain bloggers post funny, interesting, dating/relationships related stuff, which I mainly enjoy... Now that I think of my posts on certain threads, because I don't want to do all that math (jajajajajaajajajaj), I would say males make the best ones...
