tomcatty: That sounds more reasonable, yes i have a life, and value the friends i have male and female but some of my female friends have young children and they are cocerned with this issues
I am concerned for everybody, young or old. All life has worth. But that doesn't change the fact I'm tired of the lockdown, political bullsh!t, and people that are selfish beyond reason.

galrads: You’ve shown photos before. We know they are not your kids because they don’t have tails.
We all have small tails my dear, throwback from the days when we really did have tails, but my children are normal.

i know we banter a bit Gal and you being a vulnerable person deserves some attention. All the homeless people have been taken off the streets in the UK.

Cranky_Geezer: I was making a point and not calling you a high school drop out. The point is I pay attention when people who specialize in an area are speaking on their area of expertise. I tend to dismiss the ranting of unhappy conspiracy theorists that know jack about sh!t except what they heard on the news.

I'm also tired, Mikey. Very tired. And not happy about the financial ramifications for me. However, it is what it is.
Good lord, we've had 4 tries to overthrow a duly elected President.. It is a conspiracy.. Sorry you don't see it...

there is more truth to this than many people might think. Antibodies are designed to fight...I realize that this can be hard for some to wrap their head around.professor

In Newfoundland, schools were closed on March 8th and the announcement was made on March 10th or 11th that they would be closed for the rest of the 2019-20 school year.
An announcement was made last week that due to the expected second wave of covid-19 possibly in September, schools would remain closed until January 2021 but the curriculum would be taught via distance learning.
Are our kids now less immune to germs and viruses than we were at their age? Yes, they can't build up an immunity to anything if they are constantly being bombarded with sanitizer and anti-whatever soaps and sprays. Unless the kids are subjected to some illnesses, they never will. I don't mean we throw them into a vat of whatever bug or germ is available but keeping all kids at home is not a viable option either.
No matter how you view it, it's all going to be a matter of dollars and sense.

Yes to primary school but then I never would have closed them. And I would like to see big school open where parents take drugs, the town has a lot of problems.

My daughter (in England) is definitely not sending her 2 children back to school. Her daughter who is autistic went ballistic when my daughter asked her to try and put a mask on. My daughter and her partner are "key workers" but luckily can work around each other. Schools here in Spain closed on 13th March when we started our strict lock down. They won't be going back to school until September. We are going through 4 phases now trying to ease our lock down. This will carry on until 25th June or even longer if we start to "spike" again and will be put back down to Phase zero. We all have our own opinions and I think it's up to parents to choose whether they want to send their kids back to school or not.
I read today that the Uk is now saying that anyone going into the Country from 8th June have to "quarantine" for 14 days. "I'm not doing copy and paste" but yet I can go and stay with my daughter and family and quarantine there?. What happened to the quarantining of all the "immigrants" that were flown from Greece to the Uk (not Greek immigrants) What about the boats loaded with immigrants out in the sea and have to be rescued because it's inhumane to leave them out there. Where are they going to "self isolate"?

Sorry, I went off topic there. I just look at the statistics every day. I'm getting pissed off with our lock down too but I don't want to get the virus at my old age and I wouldn't want to pass it on either. It's not a case of the survival of the *fittest* This virus attacks anyone, young and old.....crying

I'm trying to understand the "last bit of your comment" Where parents take drugs? Could you please elaborate on what you mean by that statement?
Do you have kids CC? if so, would you risk their lives by sending them back to school after being protected during the Uk lock down? What's the difference between "primary schools and secondary schools? They are still kids in my eyes. You wouldn't have closed them anyway?. Ok that's your opinion but look at the Uk now. I understand that some people don't care, they're sick of being locked down, it's a case of "Every man for himself" I just call that "selfish" A case of "I'm ok Jack" comes to mind. No one is better than anyone else. We all deserve to live........Look at these statistics now. Spain was the 2nd worst Country in the WORLD 8 weeks ago. America wasn't even on the list way back then. Things sure do change..........And yes! I'm very proud of Spain and what we've achieved. Can you say that of the Uk?

No I’m not asleep...that was uncalled for. I get the whole picture. I have a degree in biology and worked as a practical nurse. I don’t believe I’ve ever been disrespectful to you. I deserve the same courtesy. handshake

Tommy. You don't need to pray for me as I'm adhering to our lock down so I'm staying safe. Maybe you need some prayers saying for you seeing that you must be at least 10 years older than me and not adhering to your lock down. When I die, it certainly won't be by covid 19, can you say the same? grin

And primary schools do tend to be much more local so there's a logistical ease in re-opening, they don't swap classrooms or teachers and considering it's summer why not hold more lessons in the playground?

The youngest children, the youngest parents, that live in the town, and the town is working class or lower. These things all lean towards re-opening.

Another reason to lean towards working re-opening the working class is youth. Shield the ones with known health conditions obviously - don't send their kids to school - but capitalise on the fact that chav parents are younger. There aren't that many IVF babies in the great mass of the people.

one of the problems is virus carrying youngsters, although a lot of young people get only mild symtoms, but can still carry the virus which can kill older people. My cleaners young daughter ( 6 years old) starts back on the 1st June, she could pick up the virus and could pass it to her mother and then to me. It's not worth the risk to me , and cosequently her mother loses part of her income.

The school year is nearly over, it would be better for them to start back in September when the situation may be different.
by the way she is a lovely little girl and my surrogate grand daughter. No fault of hers and i feel protective towards her.

I totally agree with you Tommy. Young children are now actually dying with this so called C19/Kawasaki disease. It's like a mixture of both put together. Kawasaki has not been heard of for years. Now it's raising it's ugly head combined with Cov19. amongst young children
crying

My daughter will not send her 2 children back to school in June and neither will my son who has 4 children of school age. We cannot risk children's lives. If some people don't have kids or grandkids then they wouldn't know how we feel. They are our next generationthumbs up
