The term you were probably looking for is 'self depracating' ( showing disapproval of self )
'Depreciating' means something entirely different. ( writing down the value of a financial asset )
And 'humor' is properly spelled 'Humour' :-) :-) :-)

As for the application of 'laughing at' vs 'laughing with' that's a well established, even ancient, use of language ... nothing 'modern' about that at all !

This is the "biggest" humour happening right now in the UK. BOJO actually standing by "Cummings"
Boris Johnson backs Cummings and says he acted 'responsibly, legally and with integrity' What a bloody joke. I thought that BOJO was the man to help the UK to go forward. Yeah! right
So! with the breaking news today regarding Dominic Cummings and BOJO backing him up. What about these two that were practically made to resign instead of being "sacked" for flouting "lock down" rules.
Professor Neil Ferguson.
The scientist, whose research helped usher in the lockdown, resigned from his role as a key Government adviser after admitting that he had undermined social distancing rules by reportedly meeting his "lover" at his home.
Dr Catherine Calderwood
Scotland’s chief medical officer resigned in April after twice breaking lockdown restrictions in order to visit her second home, which was located more than an hour away from her main residence in Edinburgh.
Should Neil Ferguson and Catherine Calderwood be reinstated? after all, they didn't "flout" the *lock down* rules as bad as Dominic Cummings has. Double standards?
Sorry for saying this (not) but I wouldn't shake hands or speak face to face (not that I'm likely to) with BOJO. I'd be too frightened in case I got infected with *STUPIDITY*..........
I therefore, rest my case?? Send them both over to America to play a game of "Golf" with Mr Trump and make them shake hands but no face masks allowed
