In the Gulf War of 1991 General Schwarzkopf was asked by a reporter if he thought his men were afraid to go into Iraq.

The General's response was...........If they weren't afraid I would be concerned. Fear is the stabilizer that keeps men and women on their toes.

Was he a mind readerconfused Each man will know what he fears...not all will think or feel the same...war or otherwise...some men are built to be brave and fearless...some are not

Fear can stop people from saying the truth...fear can stop people from finding the truth...fear can hold people back and fear can control massive numbers of people...like the sppok we are facing at the moment...the plandemicwink

Some would rather hide away and make excuses...than admit the truth and face upto their fears...you can't expect others to take your fears and eliminate them...cause they are your fears and your fears alone....

Fear and cowardice can go hand in hand....along with submissive and weak

what a great idea for a thread, Lee!
looking forward to the discussion it inspires.

i think when one breaks it down...
there's only two choices. love or fear.

when fear stops being a basic flight or fight guide, and becomes a pattern...whether the thing feared is real or perceived, living in constant fear does a lot of psychological and neurophysical damage to a person.

i used to be a news junkie...but as the style of news changed over the years..from actual news to fear mongering for ratings, i had to stop. starting my day with coffee and fear just wasn't working for me.
(same thing with movies and tv....we know the attraction of fear through neurocinematics).

my favourite place to be is happy.
...be here now.....

Some people have a fear of the dark and have to sleep with the light on....What would be the reason for this fear? Maybe something in childhood...cause a lot of fear stems from childhoodidea

i can't speak for others... but i do think lotsa folks are afraid of the vulnerability that love requires.
one's heart has to be open, to feel it.

i have a fear of the dark. and yes...been life long, with the bathroom light on, or when living in the city...street lights shining in through window.

fear of the dark can be the result of an experience, or it can be innate.

The exorcist is less scary than it was but I don't think that's because millennials are braver than baby boomers. The great recession and this pandemic could mean that but facing down fear has nothing to do with forums and special effects. Know what I mean. To have seen the Exorcist 15 times is something different to the hiss of a speeding. Heavy metal and that whole world of mummy and daddy wouldn't buy me a Playstation does more to look hard than those who fought wars.

You can take the world sounding suspicious and scary as evidence that it isn't - at least within our own western culture.
